I absolutely love all kinds of jewelry. Although I do admit most of the time, I stick to the classic pearls and david yurman or monogrammed silver but from time to time I like to try out trendy or different jewelry. When I do look for neat jewelry, I keep in mind the colors in my wardrobe that I wear most. I have many bookmarked jewelry sites and frequent each to see if they have something that will catch my eye (because I do admit I'm a bit picky!). I found this great pair of earrings from charm and chain called "Big Flower Earrings" I think they are so adorable and have neutral colors that will dress up any outfit!
I just love the gold and pearl detail in the middle. Best of all they are handmade!

I also have had my eye on this Charriol Wrap Bangle from Nordstrom. My big sister in my sorority first introduced me to the brand and I think their pieces are gorgeous and unique. The cable design is somewhat reminiscent of Yurman but I actually think i find I like most Charriol pieces more than I like DY pieces. Have you ever heard of this brand?

This weekend I had the pleasure of ordering a Tervis Tumbler. My family has several of these great tumblers at home with mallard ducks on them and seeing that I just broke my favorite mug I saw it fit to get one I knew was great quality. I got the 16 0z. personalized one with a hot pink circle monogram and a pink travel lid to compliment it! I am so excited to get the package in the mail. I also think that it is the PERFECT gift for a college student seeing as it holds all forms of caffeine (hot and cold!) and it is microwaveable and dishwasher safe. With shipping I got the lid and tumbler for $26. I can't wait to take a picture to show you all!
I am also still taking questions for a blog post that is in the works for next week so keep asking away! I am loving all of these creative questions. And for all of my readers that don't have a blog, feel free to e-mail me at Summerwind41490@gmail.com I just love hearing from all of you! Have a fabulous day!

Grayson Saige!

Blogging has been such a blessing. I have met so many incredible people through this and get inspired every day by each and every one of you. I have mentioned that I have met a great friend C, who goes to the same university that I go to! We catch up from time to time and have e-mailed back and forth for a while. She is such a great girl, and she has the cutest little online boutique called Grayson Saige. She also sends out monthly newsletters through e-mail which I am happy to say I receive. If you want to receive her e-mails, e-mail her at graysonsaige@gmail.com and she also has a twitter found here. One of my favorites of hers is her Polka Dot Crayfish:
I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Cozy Candles

Recently I was flipping through Town and Country magazine (with a latte in hand, curled up with my cashmere boyfriend sweater compliments of santa...sometimes the simplest things in life are the best!) and I came across a little article at the bottom of page 29 in the February issue where it featured lafco candles. I had never heard of the company before but the article intrigued me so I went to their website and came across all of their wonderful candles. While I have never actually smelled the candle (which I think sometimes it is important to actually love the scent before you purchase it) the names just sound so enticing. They have candles that are designed for each room in your home such as Amber Black Vanilla for your foyer or Rosemary Eucalyptus for your office. Then I came across a scent called Ski House which I instantly just had to read more about.. well it sounds fabulous; if only it didn't come with a $55 price tag! I am so curious if any of my readers have ever smelled one of the candles or owns one themselves?
Have a fabulous day!

Happy Weekend!

I am proud to announce I have survived the first week of classes! I have a love/hate relationship with the first week of classes because on one hand, there is not much homework and a lot of free time, but also it is stressful trying to get yourself organized for the semester and since the teachers don't teach much the first week, classes can be a real bore! I am so excited to start up the outfits of the day occasionally. I haven't worn many of my Christmas gifts, I've been saving them for their big debut in my classes, so I'm excited to share with you all of the fun new things that I love! Here is my outfit of the day:
Top: J. Crew babydoll tissue tee, L.L. Bean Saturday Corduroy Pants (straight fit), driving mocs: Ugg, necklace: David Yurman
I got the Saturday pants for Christmas, and lucky for all of you, they are now 25% off! I really love these pants, they are very nice quality and the PERFECT length (which I think is VERY hard to find!). In my opinion I would be very surprised if something from L.L. Bean wasn't good quality! You can't tell in the picture but there are adorable embroidered mallard ducks all over the pants; it's a nice added touch! The only issue with these pants is that unless I am tucking my shirt into pants, I generally like a littler lower of a waist on casual pants, but these have somewhat of a higher waist than j.crew cords.
Here in Virginia, we have been in the low 50's which is such a nice change from the snowy cold I had at home in Pittsburgh so it should be a lovely weekend. I hope you all are having better weather as well. I also wanted to extend an invitation for all of my readers to do another question an answer post with me. I did this several months ago (I think it was back in June!) and I loved all of the questions you asked. Feel free to post any question on this post or e-mail me with your questions at Summerwind41490@gmail.com. I love hearing from you! Have a fabulous weekend!

Adorable Actress!

As a result of being an unemployed college student on a month long winter break at home, I've had the pleasure of catching up on everything from my friends, books, TV shows (the good, the bad AND the ugly--oh yes, I've seen Jersey Shore and yes, it was without a doubt a waste of 30 minutes) shopping and working out! Well, I don't know where I've been but a while ago I read many bloggers posting about the series Mad Men on AMC. I had never watched an episode when reading about it, and I eventually put it in the back of my mind and never thought a thing about it. Then, bRc and I were sitting around with extra time on our hands (life is tough as a college kid, right?!) and we saw that Mad Men was OnDemand, so we started watching and now I can't stop. It is a really well put together show. I have found an amazing respect for January Jones role as Betty Draper; she plays the part to a T, not to mention a very stylish one! Have you ever seen Mad Men? Are you hooked? Over spring break, when I have more "unemployed, college break time" on my hands, I plan on catching up on all of the series, I sure will miss it until then.
Have a fabulous Weekend!

Outfit of the Day

Sorry for the blurry picture, I used my phone once again. I tried out the Gap Navajo cardigan and I can't say enough good things about this sweater! I urge you all to get one. It's soft and cozy, but also is long enough to only be worn with leggings without looking silly (like you have no pants!) I'm off to finish my packing for back to school. Have a fabulous weekend!!

Lilly+Watches= Love

Well Lilly is coming out with so many exciting things (cough-Le Sportsac-cough), I just can't hold my excitement in much longer! My countdown is set to February when LP come's out with the adorable watch sets!!!! My long time readers, have no probably tired of me going on and on about all of the different watches I love, and now Lilly has one. I say it's a match made in heaven! Now the only real dilemma that has to be which pattern to get! I'm liking the patchtastic, which one do you like?

Another wonderful post holiday sale was found at Gap. Recently I haven't been shopping in Gap because I have noticed their quality and style was not up to the usual standard. bRc and I were running a few errands tonight and popped into Gap, and low and behold, a sale with an extra 40% off! Well of course I couldn't resist to not look around and I found a beauty of a sweater. It's the Navajo cardigan. I absolutely love it!For me, Gap sizes usually run a little larger than the other stores I shop in, so I got a medium and it is plenty big, if not too big. For this little beauty, I only paid $30! I am planning on wearing it with leggings and my new riding boots. I think I'm going to try out the outfit todaybefore heading back to school and trying it. I'll post a picture of my outfit later today. I'm thinking it will be perfect for running back to school errands in this snowy mess that we call Pittsburgh!
Have a fabulous day!!

Skiing in Style

Despite the large amount of snowfall here in the wonderful city of Pittsburgh, I have had the chance to go skiing once! So sad, I know! So my new years resolution is to try and go much much more, because what better a resolution than one that makes you happy (and it doesn't hurt that it's a calorie burner!). So for all of you ski bums out there, here are a few of my favorite things that I absolutely cannot live without during ski season!
Lucky for me while at home in Pittsburgh, or at school in Virginia, I am less than an hours drive from two decent ski resorts so I am in no need to bring luggage with me!UnderArmour Women's Progear Mock. Greatest spandex for the top half. My sister and I have been wearing it for years whether it be for lacrosse, cheerleading, golfing or any outdoor sport, we rely on this great spandex to keep us warm and dry!
Spyder Spandex. These are not the exact spandex I use but I have a very similar pair from a few years back. They are hands down the best spandex. They are warm, comfortable and easy to move around in.Smart Wool socks. Best socks for sure. They have a cushiony support where needed, along with a warm cozy feel. You may question the slightly high price that is tacked to one pair of these baby's, but believe me, they are worth every penny! For when the boots come off, these boots come on! The traditional L.L. Bean Duck Boot lined with shearling. It keeps your feet warm and dry from the sludgey snow in the parking lots and unlike Ugg boots or other comparable ones, the snow does not do these boots any harm! (just a side note- I am in love with the rubber moc for rainy days! I have adorable rain boots but almost nine times out of ten, I choose the mocs!)

While skiing, overtop of the spandex I add a long sleeve T of some sort; I usually go for my "Life Is Good" skiing t-shirt given to me as a gift, If it is really cold, I add a fleece vest that I got years ago at EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports)..boy do I miss that store! Atop those layers I add the piece de resistance:Patagonia Women's Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I have loved every product I've ever seen! I recently got the Retro-x jacket for Christmas as a casual fleece to wear while at school, and I love it too! The Snap-T really keeps me warm, and it is easy to throw on and off depending on the temperature.

The final piece is my Spyder System Jacket which unfortunately, I cannot find online. A little hint though! The kid's sizes run up to a size 20 which can easily fit a grown adult. I usually wear a size 4 in everything and I got a 16 in my Spyder jacket and it fits perfectly, even over a ton of layers, it saves a lot of money!

Apres Le Ski I opt for a very casual look. It always includes a men's sweater of some sort. They are cozy and oh so warm! I have several vintage wool sweaters that my dad has graciously handed down to me, and they fit very loosely which I like! In the past I have also bought several other men's sweaters. My favorites are from Ralph Lauren and J.Crew.I spotted this lovely, festive sweater on the Ralph Lauren website. A girl can dream, right? Well may all your skiing adventures this winter bring you many laughs, and no broken bones! Have a fantastic day.

sCe
