Styling a Bed

You spend a lot of time in your bed. Who cares if it's mostly spent sleeping... a bed is still a focal point of a bedroom and you want to make it as comfortable as possible and reflect your personality.

Remember when I posted about finally finding some new bedding? Well, that was several months ago and I had totally forgot to post about it. I searched high and low for months trying to find the perfect bedding because I am really picky about itchy bedding, and not-itchy= high thread count= pricey so it took a while to find a good price point and something that matched my drapery and pale yellow walls.

The bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids... Yeah, not so adult, but I couldn't resist the pink and green and I already had the perfect green down comforter to accent the plaid duvet. I'll also note that I am obsessed with pillows. I actually have more pillows, but pick and choose because it gets too crowded and becomes a pain when making the bed. I have a thing for Euro pillows too. Every bed should have some; they are the best.

Click the pictures to enlarge them. I personally love the grosgrain texture on the accent pillow and the mixture of the yellow gingham pillows against the plaid duvet. I'm all about mixing prints and textures and I think this is very subtle, but fun (sidenote: I still need to get the accent pillow monogrammed!).

Just for kicks: the view when I'm laying in my bed. No TV in the bedroom... It supposedly messes up your REM sleep (so I heard on Gilmore Girls...legitimate information, people). The Bose speakers are ancient but create the best sound. Especially when you blast some Taylor Swift "We are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together" in the mornings (did I seriously just admit that?!). I guarantee this method will wake anyone up.

What do you think? It's still a work in progress, but it is getting there! Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

Hello darling. I saw the most beautiful yacht today. By the time I got to the end of my dock I didn't have my camera. But right away I had to tell you it was called Summer's wind!
