Bean Boot Update

First of all, a big thank you is in order to all of the fabulous Summer Wind readers out there. Your response to my Bean Boot dilemma was HUGE and super helpful. Thank you bunches!!!!

I have decided that I absolutely love the L.L. Bean 8" GoreTex/Thinsulate boots. My Great Bean Debate was a struggle but I am glad I went with the classics rather than the brown shearling. In hindsight, the extra 2" dilemma didn't really matter!

I have the 6" and the moc, however, the 8" GoreTex/Thinsulate make up a huge difference in warmth. I went to the Steeler game a few weeks ago and for all 4 quarters, my toes were toasty in the 27 degree cold. I definitely recommend getting the shearling insoles. As most know, Bean Boots run really large. I wear a size 8.5  in most shoes and the 7 in LLBean boots are too small but the 8 is too big. The shearling insoles make the shoe fit perfectly and keep my feet even warmer!

Do you love your Bean Boots? What is your favorite outfit to pair your boots with? Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

I love Bean Boots, but that are just SO not practical down here in Florida! They keep tempting me, though!

I live in my bean boots during the Maine winters! My current staple outfit is bean boots, an OCBD, skinny jeans, a thick sweater and a scarf. Add in a few layers of patagonia and that is what I am pretty much always wearing! Stay warm!

I love my bean boots! I typically wear them with jeans and sweaters but recently I've started pairing them with skirts and dresses a la Sarah Vickers.

I'm not preppy or girly {gasp!} ... but I do LOOOOOOOOOVE my Bean Boots. I just have the 8" that aren't thinsulate. I've only had them since Christmas so I haven't had much time to play with them, but they were perfect for our NYE oyster roast/bonfire with some thick socks!
I love yours with the pink skinnies!

I abhor snow, but sometimes I just wish it would snow more in VA to get extra use out of my Bean boots. Where oh where are your pants from in the top pic?

Love bean boots..although I refer to them as my "duck boots!" I love pairing them with leggings or spandex and thick, wool socks during snowy weather!

Bean Boots are awesome!! I often wear them with men's "mountain" socks, which are warm and a little long so they double as mini-leg warmers. I like your idea of the shearling inserts & will get some.

Ironically, I had the same issue you did last yr: http://preppydebutante.blogspot.com/2011/12/look-to-bean.html
