Pray for the families. Remember the fallen. Honor the heroes.

It was amazing to see the Freedom Tower this past weekend. It's also a reminder to never forget what happened 12 years ago.  Summer Wind has been around for 4 and a half years and each year I am always remembering (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) September 11, 2001. In past years I always share a little story. This time my story happened just last weekend.
I was arriving at Lincoln Center, walking across the courtyard to the tents Before I went in, I stopped to do a little people watching (seriously the people watching was the best). I had never attended fashion week before and I was super nervous. A NYPD was walking around and we got to talking. He was asking me what I was doing at fashion week. When I told him I had a blog, he told me he had just started a Tumblr because he recently got into CrossFit. We talked for a good 20 minutes and he even took my picture for me. He told me he was at Lincoln Center to make sure that nothing like what happened in Boston happened at Lincoln Center. While my nerves were at an all time high, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. Before we parted ways, I made sure to thank him for protecting everyone. It's so refreshing to meet people just like this police officer... it makes you remember all the good that is in the world.
Yours,

It's almost hard to believe that 9/11 was that many years ago, it seems like just yesterday I was in the ninth grade hearing that news. Your post is so touching and personable. It really does demonstrate the good that still exist in humanity. Great post!
