Ecru

Blazer/ Sweater (seen here, sold out, similar on sale)/ Denim/ Boots

Last week, one of my best girlfriends, Dana, invited me to go to a tasting at one of our favorite restaurants, Il Pizzaiolo. It was so much fun and so much food and wine. We tasted over 7 courses... which I should be used to considering I do this for work sometimes (hard life, I know).

I have had this 'ecru' (fancy/French word for unbleached white, aka cream) denim in my arsenal for a while and I just haven't gotten around to making sense of how to wear them. I finally pulled an outfit together (loosely based on this) and wanted to share in case anyone else was struggling how to work a seemingly summer color into their polar-vortex wardrobe. Do you work white in your winter wardrobe? Have a fabulous day!

Yours,

I have the J.Crew Ecru Toothpick Jean and it REALLY is so hard to figure out how to make them work in the winter! Adding a blazer or a chunky cardigan definitely helps make them seem a little cozier and weather appropriate.

I just got a pair of ecru skinny corduroys this winter from J. Crew and I had the opposite problem - I want to wear them with everything! It could be the coastal New England in me, but I am always so sad to see white jeans go post-Labor Day. My suggestions with ecru bottoms: any sort of flannel that incorporates dark colors (they pop against the light color instead of blending like they do with denim), anything knit/cashmere in navy (which I see you've already discovered) or camel, and black tops with leopard accents like shoes or a scarf look FAB against the light as well. Paired with brown leather riding boots and any sort of jewel tone, will also give you a luxurious, seasonally-appropriate look!

Il Pizzaiolo! To die for!!! I never know how to style white pants for winter. I always want to wear them but don't want them to get dirty, which seems impossible to me with all the slush and junk on the ground. I guess tucking them in boots is smart haha
