Many of you have asked that I share more date night and 'going out' outfits (see past post here). I am sharing a super simple outfit today that you can source from this post, or hopefully, you already have these items in your closet because they are such classic staples!

First let me note that I took these photos on a gorgeous 65-degree day, so going tights-less was a no brainer. I also had a cashmere wrap (you can kind of see it in the second photo). I've written about this cashmere wrap (also here) in the past and it is by far one of the most utilized pieces in my wardrobe. It helps that it is a neutral color (black) and it is huge. It works perfectly as a blanket on a flight, as a scarf on a freezing day, or as an elegant wrap over a cocktail dress. It's a pricey piece, but well worth it in my mind. I want one in every color!

When going out with girlfriends or on a date, I tend to gravitate towards all black. In the summer, I'm more likely to wear a lot of color, but in the winter, I'm pretty set on black. It's simple, easy, and when I'm shopping for pieces to add to my wardrobe, it just makes sense to get it in black because of the versatility. I also feel a little chicer and sleeker in all black. Case-in-point, I went out both Friday and Saturday this past weekend and Friday I wore a black cashmere sweater, black leather leggings, black booties and a blush cashmere scarf (seen here). Then Saturday I wore the black tank seen in the photos above, black leather leggings (guilty outfit repeater), gray pumps and the sweater seen in this post

The black tank in the above photos has to be one of my favorite purchases of 2016 thus far. It's only $28 and the fit is so simple and flowy. I like anything with a deeper cut neckline and this has a great cut without being overly revealing. I also got it in white. At that price, this is a great staple for all year round-- perfect for layering now and then wearing by itself in the warmer months. The tanks run true to size. I am wearing a UK size 6 (US equivalent to a 2-4).

A black skirt is an absolute closet staple. I have many that I keep on rotation. I love this black skirt with a gorgoeus texture, fitted waist, and subtle pleating. It's fun and flirty but could also be worn in a more professional setting, too. It's currently on sale for under $60. I am wearing a size 2.

Day-to-day, I pretty much stick to my jewelry basics (I'll do an updated post on this soon!). But every once in a while, on the weekends, I'll break out some statement pieces or costume jewelry. I was recently sent these ginger earrings from Lisi Lerch and love them! I've already worn them a handful of times and get a lot of compliments. They're simple but still make a statement. I typically stick to pearl or diamond studs at all times. However, this simple outfit really need a punch and the earrings were perfect. The gold cuff is another statement-maker. It's so gorgeous and has just the right amount of shine to add a little more interest to the outfit. The jewelry deisgner is a new-to-me designer, Karine Sultan. There are so many gorgeous pieces, I'll take one of each ;) !

I didn't have a chance to fill out the questionnaire but I am SO glad that you've decided to include more date night/going out outfits!! I often scroll through your blog for inspiration and this will be great on those weekend nights when I feel like I have "nothing to wear"!! ;) Great post!
