Lately 6/2/16

Smelling: AERIN just released a new scent for summer: Mediterranean Honeysuckle. It could not be more perfect. It is light and crisp with a hint of citrus. I was sent this little rollerball which will be the perfect thing to take on travels and toss in my beach bag! I love the packaging of all of AERIN's products, too, and am really interested to try the eyelight concealer!

Eating:
I'm on my no-carb kick again to jump start summer and I can already tell I am feeling better. I snapchat a lot of my meals, so if that is something you are interested in, follow along: SummerWind41490. I'll be posting some of my favorite/successful recipes. I've been making this absolutely amazing baked salmon/roasted vegetable combo that is out of this world (salmon is one of my favorite foods). I also made a ground turkey taco thing that is incredible, too! Recipes to come, but I'd also love for you to share some recipes with me if you have any! Also, the fact that I am not only discussing things that are kitchen-related, but actually making things in the kitchen is pretty groundbreaking. I would never describe myself as a good chef, however, I've started to learn a thing or two!

Pittsburgh-ing: I've written about Hello Bistro before, but now that I live down the street from one, the obsession is in overdrive. There are a billion different options of things to top your salad with and then they chop it up and mix everything together. It is the best! HB is owned by Eat 'N Park, so they even have EnP ranch (best ranch ever). If you are in Pittsburgh, I definitely recommend it!

Decorating: I decided to add this category since I am in full on decorating mode! I am honestly not very into this kind of stuff, but I am also a perfectionist and have a very clear vision as to what I want my space to look like when I am completed. I just got this dresser this past weekend and could not be more excited. I'm actually planning to use it as a stand for my TV. I needed some extra space to store sweaters so this fit the bill! Hopefully it fits right in with my living room! I also can't decide between this throw in the two plaid options. I want it for my couch (brown leather chesterfield), and both colors work. Which would you choose?

Drinking: I'm super weird and particular when it comes to drinks with 'bubbles'. Obviously, you all know I am a huge champagne fan, and just as champagne has carbonation, I prefer sparkling water over still. I usually drink Schweppes Lemon-Lime sparkling (seriously the best stuff EVER) or Pellegrino. But lately, I've been obsessed with Gerolsteiner Mineral Water. I actually prefer it over Pellegrino (I don't care for Perrier). The consistency of the water is like fine champagne: lots of tiny bubbles that make it smooth, whereas I find the bubbles in most other sparkling waters to be more like a Prosecco in bubbly consistency. I definitely recommend it if you are looking for something light and refreshing!

Watching: ME BEFORE YOU COMES OUT TOMORROW. Can you tell I'm excited? I read the book and loved it, so I can't wait to see the movie tomorrow night! Ok, onto more pressing things, this is going to be a more 'me ask you' type deal today! I'd really love to hear your picks on Netflix shows I should get into or movies I should watch! I have been stuck in a rut when it comes to shows. I just finished Scandal and want a good show that I can really get into! I'd also love your suggestions for movies I should watch. I have both Netflix and Amazon Prime, but by the time I go through all the options, I am too bored to actually go through and watch something! I'll also have a post coming up with all of my Netflix favorites!

Wearing: This past weekend I went out with some girlfriends on Friday night, went to a bachelorette party on Saturday night, and then headed out to a late dinner with my parents on Sunday night (at Tako, soooooo good). Needless to say, I was super busy. Maybe it is just me, but I have a really hard time picking outfits out for 'going out' at night in the city to bars/ restaurants. I don't really own anything 'skimpy' or what I would consider a 'typical' going out style outfit. I have, however, collected a few pieces that I feel great in and work for a night out that I just repeat over and over. One of those pieces is the romper I am wearing in the photo above. I have had it for several years (see old post here) and can't get enough. It's so comfortable but also so cute. Every single time I wear it, I get complimented on it! A new print in the romper comes out each season (I am dying for this navy option!), so it's fun to see what are available. There are a ton of options right now and a lot are on sale. The romper runs true to size (I'm in a size small) and my favorite part is that the shorts aren't super short like a lot of other rompers. Oh, and the best part? It's machine washable.

Loving: These pajamas are the best ever. I'm a true believer in wearing matching, cute pajamas to bed every night. This might sound nuts, but feeling 'put together' and 'cute' while sleeping makes me sleep better. I love how lightweight they are and love that the shorts aren't super skimpy, but also not frumpy, too. I already have two sets but just ordered two more because they are truly the best!

Wanting: So many great things out right now, don't you think? Scroll through above to see my favorites!

Listening: My June playlist is in full swing! I'm constantly adding to it, so if you are on Spotify, check it out! If you don't have spotify, you can listen to it embedded it last week's post!

Sydney, I just want to say that you are really a highlight of my day to read each morning. I especially look forward to Thursdays and your Lately posts! You have a personality that is just as bubbly as the champagne and sparkly water that you (and I!) love so much! It is so nice to read something where you are building things up and complimenting rather than the stark contrast of social media that is seemingly always bashing and running down. I have gotten many tips and products from you in the last few months of reading your blog. I will continue to do so! Thank you!

I love that romper and bought one myself. I too HATE when romper shorts are too short so I am excited to try this one. I would definitely go with the forest green blanket for your living room. The red option feels too holiday-ish for year around. Excited to see your new digs once you feel the decorating is mostly done! Have a fabulous weekend :-) xoxo Christina (timelesslystyled)

Love that romper! And I totally share your bubbly water addiction. It's the best, although relatively difficult to find a large selection in my part of the world. Anytime I go to Savannah, I stock up!

Downton Abbey on Amazon Prime! The final season comes out this month. I didn't think I would like it, but 30 seconds in I was completely hooked! It's great because the episodes are so jam packed, you can rewatch them endlessly and not get bored. Highly recommend!

I love the green plaid throw because of how neutral it would be year round!

I highly recommend Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime if you haven't watched it yet - it was so enjoyable!

Love both options for the throw. How can you ever go wrong with plaid? Though others may differ, I prefer the red. It would brighten the room all year round, whereas the hunter seems more autumnal to me. Can't wait to see what you choose. Too bad there's no blue option. -KLV in PHL

great post! I'm a sparkling water girl too :)

If you are linking to something from VS, could you possibly put it in the sentence, so I know that's where the link will take me? I'm a mom of little kids and I don't want my side bar to be filled with sexy VS secret ads. Thanks soooo very much!

Am begging for the recipe for the salmon/veggies- please please post!!!

Mozart in the Jungle is fantastic on Amazon Prime, and I'm obsessed with Grace and Frankie on Netflix!
