The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation, Lake Oconee, Georgia

Last week, I was fortunate enough to be hosted by The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee in Georgia with 4 other blogger friends: Grace, Danielle, Katie, and Carly! Lake Oconee is located about an hour and a half southeast of Atlanta (it's right in between Atlanta and Augusta!).

It was a quick and easy ride and once we got there, we were in heaven. We were greeted with sunny skies and 65 degrees-- the perfect fall weather if you ask me! We checked-in at the most beautiful lobby and I love that they had a hot cider bar for guests to enjoy!

We were staying in one of the six cottages on the property, but there are also 251 suites and rooms in the resort part of the hotel. The cottages are spread out just below the resort with walking trails throughout. It was like our own little village. Everywhere you looked, there was something spectacular to take in! On one side of our cabin, there was a stunning forest, on another side, the manicured golf course (there are 99 holes on property!), a view of the grand resort and even water views of the lake!

I'm very much a lake person. I've grown up going to our lake house in Northern Georgia so Lake Oconee had me feeling right at home. We were whisked down to our cottage via a golf cart. I included the photo of our luggage on a separate golf cart because I thought it was too funny-- that's what you get when traveling with 5 girls, ha!

Once we got to our cottage, we started to tour the rooms. This cottage was huge. It had two spacious bedrooms-- one master and then the other had two beds and a mini living room! The bathrooms were grand, complete with a soaking tub and granite and marble everywhere. I love any hotel/resort that has plenty of counter space and this definitely did!

We also enjoyed this amazing bubbly bar that the staff had set up for us-- what a way to be welcomed! In fact, there was never a shortage of coffee or bubbly at anytime, and that my friends, is what makes me a very happy camper ;).

The living room was in the middle of the cottage and where we spent most of our time. It had ample seating that was arranged around the wonderful stone fireplace. We had the fireplace on non-stop!

After we got settled in, we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and walked over to Gaby's by the Lake, which is an on-property restaurant. It was a casual bar/restaurant situated right next to the outdoor infinity pool and also boasted wonderful lake views.

The menu was SO good. I would have eaten every meal here, there was so much to choose from. We ended up eating there twice because we loved it so much! Their pork nachos were my favorite as was the lobster grilled cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! They also had amazing cocktails. I got the Tuscan Gardner which I am going to try and recreate at home because it was so good!

The property is stunning in every way and no detail was overlooked, that's for sure! It is situated on 30 acres of Lake Oconee's shoreline. It boasts a 26,000 square foot spa, which is where we relaxed, enjoyed the indoor pool, took an aromatherapy class and enjoyed the full gym and workout classes! My favorite part was the pool with the fireplace at the end...It was stunning and oh so cozy.

The overall decor of the resort was 'rustic elegance'. It had a cozy, woodsy, calm atmosphere that let you know you were removed from a big city but with the luxury and service that you would expect from any Ritz-Carlton property!

It was such a luxury to wake up every morning to a coffee and pastry delivery. We would gather around the fireplace in our pajamas and just relax and catch up before we started our day. We had a great covered deck, so we even sat out there to enjoy the views and crisp fall air. I'd like to live that kind of life everyday! At night, we'd gather around the fireplace with our computers and get some work done with a glass of wine or hot chocolate.

We were there over the election, so it was fun to be with the girls and have an election watch party. We had the fire going and we ordered s'mores and raided our Honor Bar for champagne and wine... and even ended up with pizza and chicken fingers around 1am (we ate so much during this trip, I'm still detoxing!!).

On Me:

We all also loved that they had a nightly bonfire around the back of the resort that overlooked the lake. They had a s'mores bar set up and it could not have been more picturesque and fun!

Overall the service was amazing and I couldn't recommend The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation more! The Ritz-Carlton, whether at Lake Oconee or at another property always treats everyone as if they are royalty but it is never stuffy... I always feel so comfortable and at home and that is something I absolutely love about the Ritz! I'll be back with more trip details and outfit posts with more details about what I wore during my stay, so stay tuned!
