Christmas on Martha's Vineyard

Two of my best friends are getting married on Martha's Vineyard soon and I cannot wait! The celebration is going to be so much fun. I'm also excited because I have never been to MV during the Christmas season and haven't been since summer 2016! I am so excited to see everything decorated!

I've been searching high and low for gowns (it's black tie). I love any excuse to get dressed up, and you better believe, if it's black tie, I will be wearing a floor length gown! I'm considering renting a dress, but there aren't many to choose from because I didn't get enough of a head start.

So, I've also been browsing gowns to purchase as well. There are so many beautiful ones to choose from. I thought I'd share some I am considering. Let me know what you think of them in the comments below! If you aren't looking for gowns right now, I shared 25 of my favorite dresses for the holidays, here!

I'm also considering wearing this navy blue gown that I already own. It's such a stunner and beyond comfortable... I love how easy it is to dance in and getting it dry cleaned is a breeze!

You HAVE to re-wear that backless navy dress, it is SO stunning on you! I also love that Tahari bow dress for the rehearsal dinner, super fun for the holidays and I love the cut.

I agree that you look smashing in that navy dress, and if the crowd at the wedding have never seen you in it, then it'll be new to them.

This post is seriously could not have come at a better time! My fiancé and I have officially entered the world of black tie work events/ dinners, and they seem to be popping up left and right. Its so hard to strike a balance between black tie and not looking matronly (or inappropriate), so I am so glad you posted about this. Any of those dresses would look STUNNING on you :) Have a blast!

I love the red velvet you posted as the first picture in the widget, and the navy is a close second (6th in widget). I think black tie makes for a STUNNING wedding, especially in the winter. Can't wait to see the pictures of MV during Christmas!

The navy dress is really classy. Some of the ones you have in the widget are a bit too sexy for a wedding. The Bride should be the focus in her gown. Otherwise, the first one is very pretty too.

Wear the navy gown (it’s a show stopper) . Instead use the money you would have spent on a dress and buy fur (a must in New England winter)!
