Quotes that Energize Me

Quotes that Energize Me
This has been a trying week for me. I try very hard to be optimistic in life, and always look at the silver lining, but this week, I needed some more encouragement than usual. I have felt upset and riddled with anxiety (which isn't really me)... just all around 'off' and it has made it hard for me to focus on what needs to be done.

But, you know what? I have found some pretty amazing quotes that have me looking on the brighter side and help me to keep chugging along! I've always been such a quotes person. When I was in middle school, there was this website called (it's not the same website now)... did anyone else ever visit the site?!

The website was just a black background with times new roman font in a rainbow of colors and it was a list of quotes that went on for pages. I used to write them everywhere and post them in my AIM bio (laughing at myself as I type this).

I guess now, the 2018 version is Pinterest. That is where I find all of my favorite quotes. I have a whole board dedicated to the words that inspire me and lift me up. I thought I'd share some that I have been loving recently. Hopefully, you find some of them inspiring, too!

If you have any favorite quotes, I'd love for you to share in the comments below, so we can all check them out, too!

Wherever you are, be all there. // Jim Elliot

Your calm mind is the ultimate weapon against your challenges. So relax. // Bryant McGill

If you're helping someone and expect something in return, you're doing business, not kindness.

When you love what you have, you have everything you need.

Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't. // Bill Nye

Well done is better than well said. // Benjamin Franklin

Never explain yourself. Your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe it. // Belgicia Howell

You never look good trying to make someone else look bad.

I believe in the sun even when it is not shining; I believe in love even when feeling it not; I believe in God even when he is silent. // Written on a cellar wall during the Holocaust.

Never hope for it more than you work for it.

You're in my thoughts. It feels like it's been the longest, roughest week for everyone I've talked to; I think it has to do with this never-ending winter! I know you'll miss your sweet Mac. It's a pain with which only dog lovers can empathize. Here's hoping the upcoming weeks bring you some peace and comfort!

This is a long one, but I just love it!:

“You are alive right this second. That is an amazing thing. When you consider the nearly infinite number of forks in the road that lead to any single person being born, you must be grateful that you’re you at this very second. Think of the enormous number of potential alternate universes where, for example, your great-great-grandparents never meet and you never come to be. Moreover, you have the pleasure of living on a planet where you have evolved to breathe the air, drink the water, and love the warmth of the closest star. You’re connected to the generations through DNA — and, even farther back, to the universe, because every cell in your body was cooked in the hearts of stars. We are star stuff." - Carl Sagan, American astronomer & astrophysicist

It really has been a weird week, hasn't it? I feel like everyone is saying this. Hope the weekend is refreshing and that you go into next week feeling back on track :)

So sorry to hear about Mac, they truly do become a family in every way - you're in my thoughts and prayers.

I recently read "If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done." - Thomas Jefferson and that really resonated with me!
