How To: Get Smooth Curls

One of the most requested topics in the history of Summer Wind is my hair. You all give me the sweetest compliments and I am so happy it's a topic that you are interested in! Today I've partnered with one of my favorite haircare brands, Wella to share how I get my curls to stay shiny, smooth, and frizz-free.

With warmer weather on the horizon, taming my curls can be a challenge... especially with humidity. Wella Professionals offers a line called Oil Reflections, and it is probably my favorite haircare lines ever created. I have tried many hair products and I like a lot of them but it's a rarity that a product makes it into my daily routine. I mentioned this in my instastories, but I feel like the Oil Reflections line is the best because the products work so well together but also work well on their own...that's hard to find!

If you have color-treated, thick, or damaged hair, this line is totally for you. Or, if you want to increase shine and tackle humidity, this line is also for you. I use the shampoo and conditioner daily, and follow up with the Luminous Reboost Mask about 1-2 times per week. It's one of the best masks I have tried because the product is really thick and I'm able to see smooth and shiny results immediately after drying my hair. This might be due to the camellia oil and white tea extract which help to nourish hair!

I apply the Luminous Smoothing Oil with my hands on my damp, towel-dried hair. I then my hair so the product becomes evenly distributed. I blow dry and divide my hair into sections for curling.

Once I am done curling, I use a few pumps of the Light Luminous Reflective Oil and use my fingers to break up the curls. I'm a huge fan of hair oils... this is one product I cannot go without. I love that Wella offers two types of oil: a regular and a light. My sister has fine hair and she prefers just using the light version. However, since I have such thick hair, I really like using the luminous smoothing oil on my damp hair and then finishing it off with the lighter oil. I think these two products help me to achieve the most shine and smooth texture possible!

This is what the finished product looks like! I took this photo while in Charleston where it is known to be humid. It was actually about to rain so it was very humid and my hair stayed smooth! Thank you to Wella for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.

Thank you so much for sharing! I live in Charleston and I'm sure you remember the humidity from your recent visits, imagine a month from now! I love to style my hair, but 6 months out of the year it's not worth it because I step out and it falls and frizzes. My goal this year is to figure something out. I will definitely give these a try!
