Happy Friday, everyone! I know I usually update you all in my 'Lately' posts, but I started writing this Thursday's and it got way too long! I just have so much to chat about so I thought it would make a good life update post!

My Birthday
My birthday is next Saturday! I can't believe I'm going to be another year closer to 30. I had a really tough time with 26 for some reason, but I felt good about 27 and now 28! I truly can't believe I will be 28. It sounds SO old to me for some reason. I don't feel like I'm 'that adult' if that makes any sense.

The 'gift' I am giving myself is doing a spring cleaning/purge. I started with my refrigerator and coat closet. Then I cleaned up my hard drive and desktop... which are usually in pretty good shape but I really wanted everything to be perfectly in place.

Next, I'm moving on to my closet/under bed/dressers. Maybe I'll tackle that this week. I'll also go through my kitchen cabinets. My apartment feels cluttered and it's most certainly because of all the 'stuff' I have. Getting rid of everything will feel so good and I'll feel calm and zen as I move into another year!

My Car
I had to take my car to the dealer for an oil change and to get a new tire (pothole, ick).  It's always a pain but I can't say enough great things about Volkswagen. I'm on my second VW and I'm honestly not sure I'll ever get another brand of car. One of my best friends ended up getting the same car as me and now my Grammie just got the same car as me. I feel like any time anyone gets into my car they all think 'wow, I can't believe this is a VW' because it's so nice and luxurious. They have so many amenities while you wait on your car that it really didn't feel like such a hassle. I drive a VW Passat and if you are in the market for a new car, I couldn't recommend it more. I would suggest getting the 'highest' package because then it really feels luxurious but is still somewhat less costly than higher end brands!

Speaking of cars, this morning I am taking a trip to the DMV- everyone's favorite place! I have been putting it off and putting it off, but a PA license expires every 4 years (on your birthday) so I'm due for a new license and need to get one before next Saturday. Fun times.

Henry
Henry got a bath this week! I mentioned on instastories that I had to bathe him myself last week in my bathtub because we both got stuck in a rainstorm. That was my first time bathing him myself and he did SO well while I washed him, but I feel like I did a shotty job. He was definitely due for a bath and he's so soft and smells wonderful!

Friends
One of my very best friends from high school and her husband just had a baby yesterday and one of my sorority sister's from college just had her baby a few days ago! It's crazy to think we are at that age and I couldn't be happier for them!

One of my friends who moved to DC is back in Pittsburgh this weekend and is going to stop by tonight to catch up. I haven't seen her in a while so I'm excited!

I think this weekend I am going to take it easy since next week I have a lot of plans and then next weekend is my bday weekend! I have brunch plans on Sunday with friends at one of my favorite spots, so I'm looking forward to that!

Interior Decorating
I got a new sofa this week! It won't arrive for a bit but this is something I want to write an entire blog post about. I know that sounds silly, but I feel like I have learned SO much over the past few years about buying pieces and I want to share my mistakes with you so you don't make them yourself!

I've also 'finished' adding a bit of blue to my bedroom so I'll be sharing that with you all very soon!

Violin Lessons
Remember last year I started tennis? I am all for trying new things and better yourself personally and professionally. I'll also do a full post on this but I start violin lessons next week!

Instagram API Change
In the wake of the Facebook scandal, Instagram has updated their API, making changes to a lot of the apps you use in conjunction with Instagram. This is a huge and very important update for developers and many influencers/brands alike. It's also crazy to see just how influential changes like this can be- it affects the market, too, so you need to keep an eye on this type of news becuase it might be affecting your investments!

I'm sure you have noticed a lot of bloggers talking about this in the past 24 hours. I thought I'd try to explain it in layman's terms so you can all understand and not be so confused!

This has changed the Like to Know It platform because you can no longer just 'like' a post on instagram and expect to receive an e-mail to your inbox with outfit details. Instead of liking the photo on instagram, you now need to screenshot the photo (weird, I know).  The screenshot will trigger the e-mail to be sent to you rather than a 'like'. So basically nothing is changing for you but just screenshot instead of like. Simple.

I know a lot of you follow me mostly here on my website and don't use LTK and that's totally cool with me! Plus, I don't blame you; being inundated with e-mails is majorly annoying. And, I've always made my instagram posts easily shoppable right here meaning you never have to receive any emails, download an app or like/screenshot a photo.  If you ever have trouble finding outfit details, shoot me an e-mail (this is always the best way to contact me) and I'll be happy to (promptly) share details with you!

However, if you're a fan of LTK and shoping instagrams, I definitely suggest checking out the Like to Know It app. It's really intuitive, has a clean design and makes it quick and easy to get outfit details. Whatever you are into!
