Protecting Your Skin for Summer

Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25

Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25 review
When I was in high school, I was a lifeguard and on my country club's swim team. Needless to say, I was out in the sun pretty much every single day during the summer months. My mom is Italian and as much as I mostly take after my dad, I'm lucky in that I got some of my mom's olive tone so my skin is just naturally a touch darker and doesn't really burn too badly.

Because of this, in high school, I wanted to be as tan as possible (this was the Laguna Beach era, ha!) and as much as I knew the rules of sun safety, I wasn't necessarily following them as best I could. I can tell you this much- I never wore a daily SPF... I would only apply it while I was sitting directly in the sun and in a bathing suit and a lot of the time, it was only SPF 15. Yikes. If I could go back, I'd scold myself in a big way!

Now, as I get older and more mature and responsible, I have grown to wear SPF in my moisturizer (almost) daily. If I am outside in the sun at all (especially during the summer months) I can guarantee you I am coated in sunscreen. Routinely wearing sunscreen is one of the best ways to protect not only against melanoma but also against wrinkles. It's probably the most important step in anyone's skin care regimen.

With summer approaching and Memorial Day weekend in just a few days, it's time to stock up on your sunscreen. Olay, one of my favorite affordable skincare brands sent me their Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25 to try out and share my opinions with all of you!

Olay Regenerist Whip with SPF 25 is a face moisturizer that delivers hydration that smooths your skin. It's easy to use! Just apply every morning after cleansing/using your skincare serums. It is moisturizing but also dries and sets into your face quickly, so it's great for wearing alone or under makeup.

Unlike other sunscreens, Olay Whips with SPF has Active Rush Technology, which holds and releases 1000x its weight in hydration, instantly absorbing into the skin. Because of this, it feels light and moisturizing. You almost won't believe it has SPF in it! This was one of the major selling points for me. I have tried so many sunscreens in the past (read: wasted a lot of money) only to find out that they feel sticky or oily...or worse, break me out. Then I end up ditching the sunscreen altogether.

This sunscreen easily becomes a part of your daily skincare routine without even adding another step, so you will never forget your SPF! Do you wear daily SPF? Have you always been very good at protecting your skin from the sun? This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Olay. The opinions and text are all mine.

Would you mind linking your robe and the blue blanket (?) in the last picture? I love the pattern of the blanket. And your robe looks like the ideal bathrobe!

SPF is so important, and I'm happy to see so many easy, SPF-infused items hitting the store shelves! I use a regular moisturizer with SPF in the AM, follow by EltaMD tinted sunscreen. I'll try the whips when I run out!

I use Regenerist on my neck, as I'm trying to ward off "Tech Neck". I find regenerist too heavy for my face, but fine on my neck. I top it off with EltaMD sunscreen (which is my last layer on my face too), but I'll be interested to try this version with the built in SPF.

I love that you're getting really into skin care in the last year- one of my favorite subjects. If you (or any other readers) have any recs for neck lines I'd love to hear them!

Anonymous, my robe is from the Ritz carlton shop and it is the BEST robe in the entire world! The navy blanket is actually an ottoman from Ethan Allen! Xo

CeeCee! Love that you use it on your neck, I am going to have to use it on mine, too!! I have started to use glycolic acid pads on both my neck and back of my hands (hands are one of the quickest areas to show age)! I have heard it helps keep wrinkles at bay as well as clears up the skin! Because of this, I’m extra careful with always using SPF because when you use an acid, you need to be extra careful with sun protection!

I had a skin cancer scare a few years ago (everything ended up being fine) and I have been wearing SPF daily ever since. I wish people would realize how important it is.

I love that you are promoting safe sun! I see so many overly tan bloggers in my feed and it's refreshing to see someone promoting safety over looks!

One of my favorite topics! I prefer mineral sunscreens and love Paula's Choice Resist Super Light Daily Defense. I also highly recommend Brush on Block or Colorscience Sunforgetable, both of which are portable powders that make reapplying painless.

I have been using SuperGoop sunscreen under my makeup lately and have loved it but it’s definitely higher in price point so I’m looking forward to giving this Olay Regenerist a try! Thanks for the list of sales for the weekend, I’ve already gotten my shop on at a few of them! Happy Memorial Day!

I love your pillows on your bed! And also, am going to start doing your quick and easy braid that you did on stories the other day! Your hair is positively gorgeous!
