J.Crew excursion vest // Striped Sweater (comes in 3 colorways)
Ever since I was a small child, a puffer vest has been a wardrobe staple for me during the fall and winter months. I remember when I was in 8th grade, my aunt and uncle gave me my favorite one: a black puffer from Gap. I wore it to death. In fact, you can see me wearing it in this blog post from 2014. Sadly, I have lost track of the vest- no idea where it went... but case in point that a puffer vest is a classic for both men and women young and old!
I have amassed quite the collection of puffers over the year but the J.Crew excursion vest (factory version, here) has continued to be a favorite of mine for many years. It's simple but also very functional.
I am going to guess that most of you reading have a vest. If you don't, though, I totally recommend it regardless of what your own personal style may be. It's one of those clothing items that is not really preppy or trendy or bohemian, etc. It's just a staple!
Right now is the perfect time to wear something like this. I know a lot of you live in warmer climates so while it's in the 60's here (and 40's in the morning, yikes!), many of you are dealing with warmer temps through November. A vest is a perfect thing if you are someone who lives in a warmer climate because it's an easily removable layer. Wear it in the morning and evenings overtop of your sweater and jeans, and remove it during the hot part of the afternoon.
You can wear a vest with everything from casual to dressier and I even wear mine a lot en route to a workout because it looks great with leggings and doesn't take up too much space in a small locker!
The striped sweater I am wearing has the most beautiful buttons on the shoulder and comes in 3 different colorways. Both the vest and sweater run true to size and I am wearing a size small in both. The sweater is a new to me brand and the entire line has a classic and slightly preppy vibe to it. The quality is great and the prices are reasonable. I really love this classic plaid coat. It's not cheap, but a good price for that type of coat nonetheless!

My closet is full of puffer vests. They are my go to for fall & winter! They are so easy to go shopping in and are just cute! Every year I always seem to get another one. My favorite would probably be my ivory sweater puffer... it goes with about everything!
