I posted a sponsored Instagram post on Monday with Lands End and while that was sponsored, this blog post is not and not at all part of that campaign! I just wanted to write a blog post about this down puffer coat because it is SO good and is currently 40% off with code HAYRIDE.

The irony of me posting this today is that it is literally 80 degrees outside... which is pretty crazy for Pittsburgh in late October but it looks like we are going back to the 50s on Saturday!

I don't know about where you all live, but a puffer coat is pretty much a necessity for winters in Pittsburgh. It gets SO cold here and while puffers are not the most beautiful, they really do keep me warmer than anything else.

Here's what I love about this down coat:
- The fabric is water-resistant so even in snow, you aren't going to be a soggy mess!
- It has a 'wrap' silhouette. So it's roomy but the lines are sleek and the cut is almost elegant! It only has snaps (no zipper) so when the snaps are done, it looks seamless and I think that's what makes it look dressier than a typical down coat.
- The hood is adjustable.
- It has roomy pockets and they are lined with the SOFTEST fleece fabric. I think this is my most favorite part of the coat!
- It has stretchy cuff liners so the wind is not going to get in!
- It's a down coat but according to the care instructions you machine wash it!!!
- It feels very lightweight but it's still somehow extremely warm. It's not a packable coat but you can definitely pack it down in a bag and it doesn't take up much room at all.

In terms of sizing, I would say it runs roomy. I got a size small and it's slightly big on me, but I don't mind the extra room and it will be nice when I'm wearing my heaviest layers. I still think you could size down from your usual size and be able to layer because the silhouette is not at all fitted on top of having a generous fit. It comes in two other colors but I always find that a black puffer looks the sleekest and works with all of my winter outfits. This is the kind of coat you could wear day in and day out whether you're wearing workout leggings or a nicer outfit!
