Painting Interiors
Let's talk about painting! I've always been afraid of putting ANY color on the wall beside any version of white. I'm not sure why I have such hesitation but I think it's because white kind of 'goes' with any decor and I particularly like how bright the rooms in our home get whenever it is sunny out. I also like that when it is gloomy outside, the inside doesn't feel too 'dark' because of the white walls.

But, whenever I see an image on Pinterest that I love, I notice the walls are painted something other than white!! I seem to gravitate toward images of rooms that are painted (anything other than white). So you'd think I would have painted at least one room in this house, but no!

Anyway, I'm thinking of testing it out painting a room something other than white. Possibly in my office or our bedroom or the guest bedroom? I really have no idea yet. This is really more me thinking aloud with you all. I thought I would share some images of painted walls that I really love. Do you have the interior of your home painted all one color or do you have different colors in different areas? Do you have a favorite paint color (that's not some version of white)?

I'm the same way except with grey. Most of my house is varying shades of grey but I have found a couple small rooms (that tend to be cut off on their own) to paint bold colors. My office (hunter green), the half bath (navy), and the guest room (light blue) are all rooms that are on their own, with their own "themes". I also painted my pantry a bright teal color (out of character for me) but I love it because every time I open the door to get something it's instant brightness/happiness.

Hi Sydney, loved the pics you posted! Great inspiration for those of us who love our whites! Benjamin Moore sells sample pieces you can try before you commit to a color. Also, I think the darker colors are so easier to live with in rooms you don’t spend too much time in such as powder rooms, dining room, or even a hallway or lower level rooms. Keep us posted on what you do!

Our main living rooms are white, but everything else is painted! We have a variety of finishes, too. I think you may like the Benjamin Moore historical collection of colors. Traditional, beautiful, and goes well with your sense of style. I like BM colors but prefer Behr paint, so I have it color matched at Home Depot.

There are different colors around the house with white trim, but there are neutral areas too (also with white trim). In the few darker lit rooms, I am contemplating doing a version of white as these rooms currently have a gold or green tone, but am worried the rooms will not be vibrant going to a neutral pallet. I, like you, am hesitant about doing a paint change.
