So long, Farewell

Farewell to blogland, but not for too long! I'll be back Sunday! I'm headed to Annapolis to visit my sorority Big sister! Here's a long post to hold everyone over until I post again!
First, I want to say that J.Crew once again had nothing! Of course I loved it all, but nothing great on sale which is where I shop!
On a more positive note, I had a great success at T.J. Max!
Here are some things I spotted!
knock offs! how dare they!would look great with a LBD

The most adorable mixing bowl. They had a smaller one for salsa or other dips that was only $2!! What a steal!
$7 this has LP written all over it! They also had one with darker green whales!LP dress $60! Would look great with a navy turtleneckcCm swooped this steal up! $60 LP Shirtdress! Doesn't she look gorgeous in it!
The LP tunic I grabbed for $50!!

T.J. Max was a success! I suggest all of you stop in and grab all of those preppy items for less!

Now for my packing. Well, I waited until 5 to start packing, but it went well. I had no difficulty in choosing what I wanted to wear which is a first! For packing I don't have too many tips or recommendations but here are some!
- I always lay out everything before I pack it.
-I lay out the clothing in outfits, with any accessories the outfit may include (belts, headbands, shoes, etc.)
- No matter where I go, I always bring at least one dress. It's one that can be dressed up or down whenever necessary.
- I always bring a comfortable sweatshirt no matter where or what the temperature may be. Air conditioning in the summer can be very cold, and the winter chill can get you very cold at night!
-Always read a book, it gives you something to do if you have down time or can't sleep at night
-I always bring a magnified mirror for make up application, hotels don't have close up mirrors making make up application hard and if you are a guest at a house, they usually won't have a close up mirror either. I got mine at target for $6.
-After laying out all of my clothes, I iron everything and fold all of it to put in my bag.
-I also like to put the newly ironed things at the top so they don't get too wrinkled at the bottom.
-I usually use a separate bag for shoes (totebag) especially in winter, but on short weekend trips, I throw the sandals in the same bag.
- I try to use the same color scheme for the entire trip so then I can mix and match just in case I change my mind, or I stain something.
- Longchamps are a must! I fold one or two large ones up and store them in my large bag for more storage in case I go shopping and get a few, ok maybe a lot of things!
- I make a list of the things I'll need to pack last minute such as my toothbrush, make up, deodorant, etc.
Here are some pictures of my packing success! I will be gone for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
My first outfit (Friday)
Second outfit (Saturday)Two "just-in-case" dressesMy going home/riding in the car/going to outlets outfit..very comfy!Gotta have bathing suits! The Seersucker pouch is a great invention! It is lined so you can put your wet bathing suits in so they don't leak and you can pack them up and hang them to dry when you get home.
All packed and ready to go!!

I hope you enjoyed my packing tips, do you have any packing tips that ease your travels? I would love to know!

I told you this would be a long post, bear with me! cCm and I are currently watching Knowing with Nicolas Cage. I thought it would be like a good sci-fi movie, but it's actually really scary! I think I recommend it, but I'm not sure, becuase It's also very creepy! Has anyone else seen it?

Another thing I did to add some Lilly to my room is this quick little project:I framed a LP tag. The picture doesn't do it justice. I got this frame at a wedding, they served as name cards. The tag fit perfectly. I am hoping to find a light pink frame to make this look even cuter!
I'm off! I hope everyone has a tres fabulous weekend!!
Yours,
sCe

How fun! I do something of the same sorts of things when packing. Placing the stuff on top that I don't want to get wrinkled.

Love the tunic!
Our TJ Maxx never had LP stuff here. The Marshalls does but it's never really cute stuff so most of the time I pass over. I'm sure, one day I'll find something!
The weather here in Annapolis looks fabulous all weekend!
I pack for every weather extreme possible..weird? I know!
Have a great time!

You are the best packer! I'm actually saving this post to follow your tips because I randomly go away for lots of little trips but am the worst packer ever. Thanks for the great advice!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. My sister and I haven't always been perfect; trust me! She has come a long way and we have grown a lot during these past 9 months. I'm excited to see what God has in store for us! :)

Ok... first and foremost, just found your blog.

Love the outfit choices. I grabbed the same tunic from TJ Maxx in April. My cousin actually wore the tweed Lilly dress one day last week with navy and creme Jack Rogers and was super-cute and summer appropriate which in my world = perfect!

HAVE FUN!

I absolutely loved reading and looking at this post. You have the classic all - American preppy style and I love it. Some people try to wear it and look totally contrived, but not you! You are sincere and genuine and look absolutely fabulous. I hope you have a marvelous weekend.
