In my opinion, it's really hard to come by a good tee. I find that, for most, the fit is off, the fabric composition is all wrong, or they're just plain ugly. I figured I would share some of my favorite brands and fits and hopefully you can share your favorites, too! I have so many because I love to layer them under sweaters in the winter, or just wear by themselves in the fall... you can really never have too many.
This is my most recent tee purchase and it comes from Banana Republic. It has somewhat of a slouchy, boyfriend feel but that's what makes me love it. It's very casual, but looks perfect under structured pieces like a navy blazer. It's a little bit different than your typical tee in that it is linen... I love that it is super breathable. I was worried it would wrinkle easily in the wash, but it comes out looking good as new! There are a ton of other color choices, but the grey won me over the most.
The shirt I am wearing in the above favorite is definitely my most worn style of tee and favorite, too. The above is this season's painter tee with zips (there are gold zippers on the shoulders), but J. Crew carries them every season. I have some with nothing on the shoulders, and some with gold buttons, but I love them all. The material is light weight and flattering and lays just right. They also carry them at Factory. Also, a note on fit with these-- they vary from season to season, but this season it seems as though they are running true to size... maybe a touch on the larger size... size down if you are in between sizes.
