Gift Guide 2016: The Best Hostess Gifts

'Tis the season for entertaining and attending fun holiday gatherings. Whether you're headed to a Friendsgiving party, a Thanksgiving dinner, a 'night before Thanksgiving' party, or anything holiday related, you're bound to be in need of a few host/hostess gifts to have on hand! You can check out last year's post, here

You'll notice Saturday Shoppings are being replaced until the holiday season is over! Each Saturday I'll share a gift guide with all of you so that the guides don't replace any of the usual content you find around here on Summer Wind! Let me know if there is a particular gift guide you'd like to see!

While I think in most situations, a nice bottle of wine is always a good idea (I never go empty handed anywhere), I think the holidays are a great time to step up your gifting game. I also think these ideas are really great for those who are traveling and staying at someone's home-- I think a bottle of wine is fine, but doing a little more is better!

Initial Mug// This is pretty basic, BUT, you can make it more fun and special. I think getting a few to spell something out is a cute idea, adding in the fixings for hot chocolate, or even a Starbucks card is something to pump up this gift! I also love this initial mug!

Personalized Flag// This one is a lot pricier than what I would typically suggest on spending for a host/hostess gift, so it's more so a couple or family gift, but how fun is that?! I think it would be such a nice gift for those that live by the water! They have a pennant version, too, which is a much more affordable option!
Hand Soap// This scent is divine. Seriously, it is one of my favorites and the bottle is gorgeous. It's more than some people would spend on hand soap, which is why it makes it a nice gift to give!

Candle Trio// I personally really want this (and this trio, too!). I've said this a million times here on Summer Wind, but the best thing to do with sets like this is to break them apart and use them as separate gifts or add-ons. Pair it with something like a candle snuffer set or adorable matches (love these, too!)!
Initial Vase// A vase is always a good option for someone who has everything. You can never have too many! The personalization option makes this one extra special. Bonus points if you bring it already filled with flowers!

Custom Cocktail Napkins// A set of 100 monogrammed cocktail napkins is such a fun gift, especially for someone that has everything or someone who hosts often! I love all of the monogram and color options here

Cheese Set// This one has trendy copper AND marble. What more could you want?!
Throw Blanket// Another 'you can never have too many' item. Definitely a cozy, seasonally appropriate gift! I love all of the monogramming options, too!
Coffee Table Book// A coffee table book is a great gift because they're available at all price ranges and topics. I love giving these because you can write a special message inside of the book, too. For example, one of my best friends from high school went on her honeymoon to Napa, so I sent them a Napa coffee table book! I specifically featured the Gentleman's Guide book because I think bringing a host gift for a guy is especially hard, but this is a fun and sophisticated option!
Copper Mugs// This is such a fun gift for anyone that loves a moscow mule. I'm a huge fan! You can give one filled with a mini bottle of vodka, ginger beer, and a lime as a cute little gift or you can gift a set to a newly married couple! This Moscow Mule gift set is really nice, but you could probably recreate something just like this on your own for less!

Ornament// I think an ornament is such a great gift. You can never have too many and they're so personal. Each year they will put the ornament on the tree and remember you!

Steak Knife Set// I got these knives as a gift and they are the best. They're beautiful to look at (very elegant!) and they work wonderfully. They come in a ton of different colors, too. This is the best price I've found from all of the retailers online!
