Athleisure with my BFF, Mac

I haven't done an athleisure post in a short while, so, here we go! Last weekend, my parents went out of town, so I babysat Mac.

First of all, if you weren't aware, I love love love dogs. All dogs. I want allllll the dogs. Ok, now that that's out of the way, let me introduce you to Mac (for those of you that may be new here at Summer Wind).

Mac is our Australian Cattle dog. Callie and I grew up with him. We've had him since I was 14 and he is 13 years old. He's old, but he's still kicking and a spry old man! We rescued him when he was a puppy from our local animal shelter (always choose to rescue!!!). I love him more than anything in the entire world. He is so sweet and kind and gentle. He's truly the best and we all consider him our family member.

I should also note that although he is adorable-- he is not good at having his photo taken. We all think that he fully knows when a camera is pointed at him because he always turns away/looks away. Every. Single. Time. It's hilarious, but also frustrating because it takes SO many tries to get a pic where it looks like he is actually looking at the camera!

Mac is so sweet and kind and loving. He is insanely smart and loves food and treats. He is super well behaved. He hates going into water (lakes, oceans, etc.) and is not a fan of cold weather. He loves to sit in the sun and especially loves watermelon and steak.

I want a dog of my own to live with me so badly. But, unfortunately, I just don't think that is going to happen anytime soon-- especially after having Mac stay for the weekend. It was really a reality check that it's probably not the best for me right now...and I needed that because I was really ready to adopt. Hanging out with Mac is just wonderful for now.

I also wanted to share this super easy athleisure outfit and highlight this great coat. It actually folds up into a small pouch, so it's great for traveling as well as keeping in your car or tote for those 'just in case' moments. It's great for spring/fall because it's pretty lightweight, but you can also wear it in freezing temps as long as you have an extra layer on underneath! I personally think that it runs a little small. I sized up to the medium and it's nice and roomy and perfect for layering!

Underneath my coat is one of my most worn pieces of clothing: The better sweater. I wear this thing all the time, I really should own it in all the colors. It has a cozy fleece lining but the outside is a sweater material. It's just so comfortable and easy to pop over everything. I prefer wearing it with leggings, though as the black matchings with everything!  I actually just wore it on my flight to the Bahamas! This piece runs true to size and I am wearing a size small.
