The Reef Atlantis, Nassau Paradise Island, Bahamas

It's kind of ironic that today I'm posting gorgeous photos of powdery white sand, stunningly blue waters and sunny skies when the northeast is getting crushed by snow. I should have never come home, ha!! But really, my Bahamas trip was such a dream! I traveled with 3 other blogger friends: Katie, Grace, and Danielle. I've traveled with these ladies many times in the past and they are always so much fun to be with. They are all so kind and smart... it's always great to surround yourself with girls like that!

Where we stayed:
The Reef Atlantis on Nassau's Paradise Island in the Bahamas hosted us for the week. If you haven't had the chance to travel to Nassau, Bahamas, it's actually quite easy to get to as there are a lot of direct flights from cities all over the country. I've been to Atlantis Resort several times but had never stayed at The Reef. The Reef is categorized as 'residential luxury' and that's just what it was! Since the Atlantis is such a huge property, I really loved entering into The Reef's lobby. It was smaller and more intimate and kind of gave off a more boutique-like feel. We each had our own studios on the 19th floor which were very spacious and inviting.
When you walk in, you have a little entry way and then a gorgeous, large bathroom with a marble shower and large soaking tub plus double sinks. One thing that makes for a wonderful stay (in my mind) is when a bathroom has tons of counter space. It makes getting ready in the morning and winding down in the evenings so much easier and more pleasant. The double sinks were so great and provided all the counter space I could have ever needed. The soaking tubs were also amazing. Afer dinner the first night, we were all exhausted so we retired to our rooms and I took a bath. I actually never take baths, but I figured why not?!

The beds were huge and luxurious and the closet was also plenty large enough. I fully unpacked so I really appreciated all of the drawer space as well as hanging space. There was also a sitting area as well as a little table where I worked from. It looked out the window onto the balcony which had sweeping views of the resort and beach/ocean. And to top it all off, there was an area complete with a wet bar and even a cute little dishwasher. You could really stay for an extended period of time there very comfortably!

Where we ate:
We certainly ate very well while in Nassau. We had dinners each night at different restaurants around the Atlantis property. There is an abundance of restaurants to choose from and they are all located in different areas of the Atlantis. Whether you're looking for a healthy salad, a juicy steak or a late night slice of pizza, there is really something for everyone. Everything we ate was so good.

77 West// This is located in the Cove area and had so many fresh fish dishes with a Caribbean influence. It had a cozy-chic vibe with dim lighting and beautiful, large banquettes. We started off with the Ceviche which was excellent and I had the ahi tuna as my dinner. One thing I love about being anywhere tropical is the abundance of fresh fish. It's one of my favorite foods and it's so nice to be able to eat it at every meal!

Seafire Steakhouse// This restaurant is in the marina area which overlooks all of the yachts in their slips. It has a neat atmosphere in that when you are inside, you would never guess you are in the Bahamas. It's very rustic and This is traditional style steakhouse but also had an abundance of fresh fish options, too. We started off with beef carpaccio. This is one of my favorite foods and I am so glad we ordered it because it was amazing. Then I got the filet which was nothing short of perfect. I always order my meat rare (still moo-ing) and I oftentimes find restaurants overcook it, but they nailed it!

Olives// This is Todd English's restaurant and it had a very Mediterranean vibe in both the menu and the atmosphere. Lots of different things to choose from! This was our last dinner and we were all starving by dinner time, so we really went all out. Everything we had was absolutely wonderful. I think this was my favorite meal of the trip!

What We Did:
We did a lot of exploring the island, so we were often off property, but we did make sure to tour everything and check out what the resort had to offer!

Lounged at the pool// One late afternoon, we hung out by the pool and sipped tropical cocktails like Bahama Mamas. The reef has their own pool but you have access to Atlantis's 11 pools (including the ones with the water slides (which is called Aquaventure) like in the Mary Kate and Ashley movie!!)

Walked on the Beach// There is a beach just steps outside of the resort, so getting out there for early sunrise walks with our coffee was heavenly.

Lunched at Seaglass// We stopped here on our first day for lunch and a few cocktails. It's right in the Cove area and was really nice to be able to just lounge around!

Gambled at the Casino// I am not a gambler but it was fun to check this huge space out and play roulette. I ended up breaking even, so I left a happy camper!

Thank you so much to the Atlantis and Nassau Paradise Island, Bahamas for hosting us!
