Here is the second installment of my makeup routine. I have said this before, and I will say it again: I'm not that into makeup. I like what I like and don't really tend to switch it up too much. Every once in a while, I will go to Sephora or even the drugstore to try things out, but I am pretty set in my ways. I also like things simple and clean and try to keep my routine as minimal as possible!
Every night before I go to bed, I wash my face. I get my eye makeup off with Clean and Clear makeup dissolving foaming cleanser. It's gentle and works super fast.
Then, I wash my face with Phisoderm anti-belmish gel facial wash. I have experimented with a lot of different cleansers and I have to say that I really like this one. It's very light and gentle and not overly drying. It also has a nice, clean scent.
If I shower, I use Philosophy's microdelivery exfoliating wash. This is very gentle, the only thing I don't love is that it is oddly scented. When I wake up in the morning, I just wipe a cool cloth over my face before make-up application.
If I have any blemishes, I dab a little Epiduo on the spots. This is by prescription only but it literally works wonders. I don't have acne and rarely get zits, but when I do, this gets rid of them over night. My face does get really shiny easily, if anyone knows any way to fix this, please let me know!
I don't know what I would do without my brush holder from Vera Bradly. I love how it unrolls and I can see everything laid out flat. I have a lot of brushes and most I don't use. The VB holder came with brushes but I don't use any of them because they aren't the right sizes for what I need. The VB brushes are nice quality though. I have a set from Clinique as well and I really dislike them-- they are itchy! I really like my Sephora and Sonia Kashuk brushes (Target). I have never gotten my eyebrows waxed or had anything done to them. I just occasionally pluck them with Tweezerman tweezers (in my opinion, they're the best!).
Next up is the rest of my makeup routine. Do you have any "must try" products to check out? What do you use to get a fresh face before you start putting on your makeup? Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

I love your Vera Bradley brush holder - how neat that it rolls out! I'm the same way, I don't experiment with my face routine much. I'm set in my ways!
Love your Vera Bradley brushholder !
I might have to try that Philosophy wash! One thing I swear by is Clean & Clear's persa gel!
Love your brush holder! I have the same issue with shine, and I just got Smashbox Photo Finish Hydration Primer and it is literally a miracle worker! It makes my face look so fresh and now my face stays matte all day! XO
My face used to be super shiny, too, until someone told me that I just have really dry skin. "Dry skin? Is she crazy?" I thought, since my face was so shiny. But she said that my skin was overproducing oil because it was super dry, and if I moisturized it better, it would stop being shiny. Lo and behold, she was right. Ask you dermatologist about a better moisturizer. Good luck :)
I have that same prescription cream and it works wonders!
I used to have a problem with shiny skin until my aesthetician recommended Murad oil control mattifier. I LOVE it. Your skin feels so clean throughout the day and the SPF 15 is a great thing for the sunny climate I live in. My makeup goes on great right on top of it.
