Pretty Little Sundress

\
This cute little sundress via ASOS has caught my eye. It reminds me of something J. Crew would have had circa 2007(ish). At under $100, this would be the perfect dress for summer party. Have a fabulous day!

Friday Five

Isn't this Tory Burch lobster iPhone case adorable? Now, if only I had the iPhone 5!

ASOS swing dress in navy + white. This dress is super versatile You could throw it on to run errands or dress it up with a navy blazer and chunky nude heels. Many have asked about ASOS sizing. I would say it runs pretty true to size. I wear a small or 2/4 and wear a 2 or 4 in ASOS

The Mirrored Ray Ban aviators made popular by Lisa Vanderpump.
Can you tell I have a thing for lobsters? I think that this C.Wonder bottle opener will be my go-to hostess gift for the summer. With so many events/parties this season, this is a perfect little gift to bring to your next event. I am going to wrap in cellophane with a bold navy + white striped grosgrain ribbon (can you also tell I have a thing for navy + white?!).

Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote. So simple. The perfect working-girl tote.

What are you loving this Friday? Have a fabulous day!

Canvas Prints

I have been searching high and low for something to place above my bed. Right now, I have a gold frame with a picture collage. While the collage is pretty, it is average. I really want something that would be meaningful and gorgeous at the same time. I love the idea of a gallery wall, but above my bed needs something more substantial rather than a collection of smaller photos. My solution?

Easy Canvas Prints is a company that prints your photos onto canvases. You can choose the size of the canvas and the depth. You can even have it framed. I think the price is reasonable and the fact that you can customize everything, is a bonus! I am going to order a canvas of Pittsburgh, Mac and my house (not shown for privacy reasons).

This is such a cute gift idea for a new home owner, someone moving off to college, newlyweds, or someone moving out of town!

What do you have on your walls? Have a fabulous day!

I've Got a Crush

Two months ago, I posted about these gorgeous Ted Baker sandals. I haven't made them mine, and two months later, still can't get them out of my head (this is starting to sound like I'm talking about a boy, rather than shoes...but hey, a crush is a crush!). Have you ever found something that you are pining over but haven't bit the bullet because it doesn't really fit in with "your style"? Someone guide me on this Ted Baker issue!!
Have a fabulous day!

Summertime Staple: The Wedge Salad

There are few things that I dislike in life, but cooking is one of them. My whole family loves to cook... but me? Not so much. But...I love to eat. So, once in a while, I cook. The other night I really wanted a wedge salad. So, off to the market we went and got the ingredients. I got to thinking: a wedge salad is a perfect summer meal. Albeit, not the healthiest option, but yummy. Not to mention, there is very little actual cooking involved and the ingredients are super cheap (perfect for a college student or recent post-grad).
Wedge Salad
All you'll need is a head of iceberg lettuce, bacon (I used peppered), tomatoes (heirloom are my favorite), bleu cheese dressing, and crumbled bleu cheese (you could also use Gorgonzola).

Cut the head of lettuce into 4 "wedges" and plate. Cook the bacon (the more well-done, the better for crumbling purposes). Chop tomatoes into small pieces. Once the bacon is cool, chop into small pieces (it will crumble).

Dress the naked wedge with bleu cheese dressing. Add chopped tomatoes, bacon crumbles, and bleu cheese crumbles. Voila! It's that simple.

If you are trying to go the healthier route, substitute regular dressing for "lite" and substitute pork bacon for turkey bacon. Are you a fan of a wedge salad? Do you add any extra touches to your own?

Have a fabulous day!

JoJo Loves You Bling Sale

I posted about the JoJo Loves You sale last year because let's face it: who doesn't like shiny, sparkly things?! Well, it's that time again for another sale!
The variety of earrings make great gifts and are perfect for bridesmaids as well! I am crushing on the oval blings as they are a little different than your standard circular stud! What is your favorite pair? Have a fabulous day!

Fun Goes Preppy

By now, most know of Fun, the band that has been sweeping the Top 40 charts for a while, but did you know they did a shoot for GQ? Well I sure didn't...until now. I had to share these uber preppy, stylized photos. Ohhhh I'm in love. Have a fabulous day!

Navy + White

This pretty little navy peplum seemed to garner many a question on Instagram over the weekend. It's pretty darn perfect, right?  I have a serious love for navy-- it turns into an obsession when navy is paired with white. I can think of no pattern I love more than a navy and white stripe. So clean, so simple, just perfect
The peplum is from ASOS (see, I told you I love that site!).

While ASOS doesn't carry the exact top I'm wearing, there are a lot of great navy + white  options out there! Scroll to the right to see my favorite picks! Have a fabulous day!

Summer Wind Apologizes!!!

All of the Summer Wind readers out there deserve a HUGE apology! Over this weekend, I headed to Annapolis to visit my bff and big sister in my sorority dLn. With 8 hours of driving in one weekend, I had lots of thinking time.

As I was shuffling through my thoughts, I was thinking about how few blogger e-mails I have been receiving recently. As I thought longer about it, I realized in the past few weeks I have received NONE. Which is a huge shocker considering I receive at least 20 daily.

Well, it hit me... my Summer Wind e-mail stopped forwarding to my personal inbox. This has been going on for over a month! At first, Gmail was only forwarding a few, and then it stopped completely. I feel so clumsy and embarrassed for not realizing this sooner and want to apologize to anyone that has sent me an e-mail as of recently. I am making it my goal to work on getting back to everyone that e-mailed me in the past few weeks, so please bear with me as I sort through my Summer Wind inbox.

E-mails started to slowly stop sending starting March 22 and by April 24, I stopped receiving all Summer Wind e-mails. So, if you have not heard a response, you will hear a response this week.

For all of you that have your e-mails forwarded into one inbox, be warned, this could happen to you-- make sure they are forwarding!
Apologies x 1,000!!!

Pineapples

I love, love, love pineapples. Well the fruit, of course, but I also love that it is a symbol of hospitality. For as long as I can remember, we have always had little pineapple details floating around our house. I can remember when I was little, our front door even had a brass pineapple door knocker!
These cocktail picks from C. Wonder are too cute. What a fun hostess gift... or gift for your own bar cart!

For the guy in your life. Lobsters and pineapples-- a match made in heaven. Vilebrequin always makes the best!
Pineapple studs? I can get behind that any day.

Talk about aor. I env pop of colision this lamp in a navy room. Ohhhh the possibilities.

Send your thank you's in a chic way with Crane and Co.'s pineapple cards.

This Kayce Hughes dress is too stinkin' cute.

Do you love a good pineapple motif as much as I do? Have a fabulous day!

Closet Staple: The Shirtdress

I am a huge fan of the ever classic shirtdress. It's easy, comfortable, versatile and put-together. For some reason, I find that there aren't a lot of options for classic shirtdresses out there. I'm not a big Gap shopper but I noticed that they have several perfect options at an even more perfect price point.

I love this gingham version. It also comes in pink gingham and it's on sale!

The most perfect shirtdress? This DVF number needs to get into my closet. It is absolute perfection! Totally versatile and definitely a closet staple. If you don't follow the white rule, you could even wear it into fall with cute sweaters and boots.

Are you a fan of the shirtdress? Have a fabulous day!
