Before I write about a beauty product, I almost always use it for two weeks. I think it takes that long to really figure out how to best apply the product but also to see how it reacts with your skin. For the most part, I have clear skin and try not to wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis. However, I've been battling a pretty bad breakout for the last few weeks so I've been very careful with what I use on my face. Not to mention, I have sensitive skin, so I also do a lot of research on ingredients in face makeup.
My whole theory about makeup is that when I take it off, I don't want to look that different than when I had makeup on. The worst is when I watch YouTube videos and see people completely transform themselves. I think it's incredible artistry, but I wouldn't want to alter my appearance that much!
Thanks to Bare Minerals, I've been wearing their latest product, Complexion Rescue (in natural). You can see a photo of myself with the product here and here. Bare Minerals is calling it a 'tinted hydrating gel cream'. At first, 'gel' threw me off a little, but as soon as it came out of the tube, I understood a little better. The texture and consistency reminds me of a slightly thicker version of their primer.
It has a light coverage and it's really easy to apply. You can use the brush which I like, but I actually find it easier to use my fingers because I have more control on how much product I use.
The bottom line:
I love it and it has become a part of my daily routine. I am using it in place of a primer and foundation. Primers have silicone which can cause breakouts, Complexion rescue doesn't have silicone, it is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. I also love that it doesn't feel like I am wearing liquid makeup at all. It's super lightweight and covers just enough.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks as well, and it's perfection! Great review...and thanks for the tip about silicon in primers. I definitely have to check mine. I, too, have been battling a nasty breakout. I'm wondering if it's from my change in primers.

Used it for one week and ended up with a horrible rash. Still trying to narrow down the nasty ingredient that did it
