Nautical Navy

If you didn't know, there is a giveaway for all three of these bracelets on my Instagram (@SummerWind41490). Head over to enter!

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago during one of the first (and very few) 'warmer' days that we have had. Maybe I should stop wearing these jeans, because you are all going to start to think these are the only pants I ever wear... but that isn't far from the truth.

I was going out to a nicer restaurant with family and friends but knew I had plans to hang out with friends at one of my bff's houses later. I wanted to be dressed nicely, but also comfortable enough for after dinner to hang around at home with friends! This was the perfect 'compromise'. It's comfortable, laid-back and consists of my favorite navy and white color combo. What have you been wearing now that the temps are finally starting to break? Have a fabulous day!

Wear-To-Work

Shirt// Pants// Handbag c/o // cable ring

Heels (sold out, similar)// Sunglasses// Monogram necklace

Watch// engraved bracelet// White link bracelet

I always receive a lot of e-mails asking what I wear to work. Honestly, my work wardrobe is slightly uninspiring. A few days a week, I really try and put in some effort, but the outfit in this post is pretty standard work attire for me.

I like to be comfortable and for that, I dress simply. In the winter, I pretty much never wear a dress or skirt because it's just not practical with the freezing temps. As spring starts to arrive, I reach for more dresses and skirts which is what I love the most!! I always put on bracelets in the morning and by mid morning, they're off because it drives me nuts while typing on the computer!

The pants in this post are one of my most favorite pairs of pants that I own. I wear them so much, I should probably buy another pair (especially because they now come in many colors and even prints!). They're super comfortable and I love that they are cut in a skinny ankle style, but the fabric is dressier. I wear these for work and with a cute top to go out on the weekends. I even wear them as though they were leggings with oversized cashmere and flats. The best part? They don't need to be ironed. Sometimes when I don't have an outfit picked out the night before, these are so easy to grab because they don't need ironing in the morning.

I just got this bag and I am soooooo in love. It's a gorgeous creamy pebbled leather with SO many pockets. I use my Mansur Gavriel bag daily, but during the spring/summer, I wanted something more seasonally appropriate, especially because I ween myself off of black during these seasons. This bag totally fits the bill because it has the satchel handle as well as a shoulder handle. It's huge. It has a padded iPad sleeve built in and phone pockets and zip compartments. I will be able to comfortably bring my sandals in the bag as a change of shoes which is necessary for walking the city blocks!

Also, if you are a working woman, this white shirt is your best friend. Brooks Brothers makes it in a bevy of cuts, but I prefer the classic. It looks so crisp for the workday. I also love it even more with distressed denim and heels for a weekend look. What do you typically wear to work? Have a fabulous day!

Scalloped Blazer

I just stumbled upon this blazer while I was shopping with my mom this weekend and totally fell in love. It's professional and polished but can also be dressed down. My favorite part? It's under $100! Have a fabulous day!

Visiting DC

I popped down to DC for the weekend for one of my sorority sister's bridal showers. I am so excited for her wedding in May! Alyssa and James are the cutest couple and so perfect for eachother!

When I got down there on Friday night, I met up with my 'big' sister in my sorority. She is such a good friend and I am so thankful to have her in my life! We always have a blast when we are together! We went bowling at Pinstripes in Georgetown. It's essentially a bar and bowling alley all in one. I'm the worst bowler ever, but it was still tons of fun!

Then Saturday was the shower! Alyssa's shower was lovely and it was so great to see some sorority sisters I hadn't seen in a while and I love watching the bride open gifts.

Then, later that day, we hopped over the Alexandria, VA to explore Old Town for some shopping and a late dinner. If you've never been to Alexandria, you must put it on your list because it is the cutest. I don't visit that area enough when I am in town! We checked out Red Rocks for dinner which was a delicious, casual Neapolitan pizza restaurant. Then the next morning, I had to head out early but had a delicious breakfast at Earl's with my old roomie/sorority sister, Lisa. YUM! Needless to say it was a weekend packed with lots of cocktails and food. My kind of weekend, that's for sure! Have a fabulous day!

Tee// Denim// Trench
Flats// Sunglasses// Bag
Turquoise Necklace// Watch// White Bracelet

If you couldn't tell, I have an obsession with these jeans. I probably wear them at least 3 times a week. They are so comfortable, they almost feel like I'm wearing sweatpants. Also, this trench is invaluable during the fall and spring months. I was so happy to pull it out once it got above 45 degrees. I wear this casually like the above outfit, but I also frequently wear it to work with dresses and skirts. This trench is amazing quality and definitely a great 'look for less' compared to the classic Burberry trench.

I wore this super relaxed outfit on Sunday. My family and I went to one of my new favorite restaurants, Mambo Italia on Sunday evening. My sister, Callie, was home for Spring break so it was so much fun to have the family back together. We always make sure to have dinner together on Sundays...it is one of my favorite family traditions and I really value the time we spend all together. Have a fabulous day!

Patricia Altschul's South Carolina Estate

I am embarrassed to admit that I watch the show Southern Charm on Bravo. It's a reality show that follows around residents of Charleston, SC... it's a train wreck, really, but I like tuning in.
Anyways, my favorite part is when they feature Patricia Altschul, the mother of one of the main characters of the show. Her estate is incredible and pretty much exactly what I'd want my home to look like if I lived in the south. Not to mention the decor. It's elegant, tastefully fussy with many classic touches. Ohhhhh it's so perfect.

The bathroom is my favorite. I love all of the bright blue and white. I mean who doesn't want huge windows and a fireplace in their master bath? Have a fabulous day!

Navy + white

Dress// Bag
Flats// Sunglasses
Bracelets// Watch
Nail Polish// Monogram Necklace

I love navy blue. It is my absolute favorite color. I love the nautical look of navy and white but I also love how chic all navy can look. It's like black's preppier half (say that aloud and it sounds ridiculous, but it's so true).

When I saw this dress pop up on my radar ($25 off no code needed!), I knew I had to order.  The shape of the dress is just too easy to throw on during spring and summer for work. It's professional but you could also dress it up a little for happy hour post-work. It's also still classic but the stripes in the back/on the sleeves and the stepped hem give it a fun, youthful update. And not to mention, it looks awesome with a monogrammed canvas tote and Jack Purcell's for an easy weekend look. For sizing, I am wearing an XS, but if are hip-y, I would suggest ordering your size or up a size. If you are a 0, the smallest size is probably too large for you.

I wore this dress to dinner one night after work and it was one of the first 'warm' days we had. I was SO happy to be able to ditch tights and go bare legged. Anyone else want to have a tight burning party with me??? Cannot wait until it is consistently in the 60's and doesn't go below 30 for good! Have a fabulous day!

La Roque Ivy Top + Lilly Pulitzer Travel Pants

Heels (under $100!)// Sunglasses

I was SO excited when this top from LaRoque showed up on my doorstep! Anna from LaRoque picked this out for me and sent it as a fun surprise and I cannot tell you how many time's I've worn it. I wore it to work one day and people were stopping me left and right letting me know how much they loved my top! LaRoque is a boutique located in Columbia, SC and carries gorgeous clothing but also has custom options as well. Think derbies, weddings, showers, etc. there is definitely a dress for any occasion (the top I'm wearing comes in a dress, too!). Besides work, I also wore this for a night out with girlfriends!

I also recently picked these sunglasses up on a whim while shopping at Nordstrom. I wear the exact same style in the classic green and gold combo almost daily, so I felt like giving myself a little switch up could be fun. And as for the pants... well, we all know how much I love them from this post. And can we all pause for a minute and take a look at what's missing from these photos?! SNOW!!!! Does that make anyone else so excited because it makes me want to jump for joy. Luckily, all of the snow has melted and it has been hitting 50 degrees most days. Now that is a true win in my book!

Also, if you are wondering how to get curls like I have in these photos, follow this simple tutorial I made. I'm working on another video, so stay tuned! Have a fabulous day!
