Lately 3/16/2017

Well, we are halfway through March- almost a quarter of the way done with 2017. I feel like I am always commenting on how fast time passes but isn't that the truth?! I wish it would slow down a little. I think it's also really affecting me right now because I have been so insanely busy. Between my social calendar, work schedule, traveling, family events, etc., it really is hard to manage it all- but it's what I live for, so you'll find no complaints here!

I've been using this week to catch up on SummerWindBlog.com and get that back into shape... some exciting changes are coming in the next few weeks/month or so and I am very very happy with them so far. Can't wait to share more on that front.

I've also been working diligently on getting my living room ready to shoot and share here. I am still waiting on a few pieces to arrive, but I've also been pulling together finishing touches, too! Anyway, just thought I'd share that little update with you all, but let's dive into today's regularly scheduled programming....

Pittsburgh-ing: I tried out Bruneaux in Sewickley (photos at the top of this post) this past weekend for brunch with some girlfriends. Not only was the food amazing, but the entire place is adorable. I cannot recommend it enough! I hope to go back for dinner, soon. Their sea bass (omg or filet with black truffle butter) is calling my name!
Sweatpants (come in navy, too!)

Wearing: Well... this week I wore heavy sweaters and the coziest clothes I could get my hands on (considering it was below 20 degrees and snowing all week). I've been raving about these sweatpants on social media the past few days and seriously, you guys all need them. They are the best $20 I've ever spent. They are seriously the most comfortable and softest things I own (softer than my finest cashmere). I sized up to a medium as I like my sweatpants to be super roomy! But, I should note, they're cute enough, but not really something I would ever wear out in public.

Loving: I had been unimpressed with Tory Burch for a while. I think she strayed away from classic, chic pieces for a few years and went logo-overboard. However, for me, she has made a comeback in a big way. This season, her pieces are back to the classic, East Coast styles that I know and love. And particularly, this season, I love the nautical and preppy influences! It's really unfortunate for my pocketbook because I want literally everything. As I was browsing the site, I also noticed that TB has launched the Dodie Thayer lettuce ware collection in white! I love it and wish I had more cabinet space to hold this collection (as a side note, I'm totally turning into my mom/aunt/grammie with my love for china/tableware)!

Loving II: You all know how much I love the Dessange oleo oil. I use it daily and could not recommend it more. It works wonders in my hair. So when I was sent this brass color correcting creme, I was interested to try it. I had heard of purple shampoo before, but this is more like a conditioner that you put in after shampooing. I used it while in the Bahamas because sun/chorine/etc. can change the color of blonde hair so I thought it would be the perfect product. I used it a few nights in a row and it definitely brightened up my hair! And when it came out of the tube it is BRIGHT purple. I think it will be great to have on hand in the summer. I don't think I would use it daily but once a week should do the trick!

Wanting: For some reason, I've really been wanting a white or ivory bag for spring/summer. I actually don't have one at all, so this would be something really new to my wardrobe! I am really eyeing this bag, but it's so pricey and I just can't bring myself to spend that much on something that is so seasonal. Buttttt, enter this bag. It's just gorgeous, the perfect size, and 1/3 the price of my original favorite. What do you all think of it? Yay or nay?

Wanting II: These shoes are total goals. I've noticed pearls having a moment on shoes lately (like these stunners) and these are just dripping in pearls. What's not to love?!

Sale-ing: This necklace is not on sale, but it has the look of one of my all-time favorite J.Crew pearl necklaces for a fraction of the price!

Listening: I am OBSESSED with Ed Sheeran's latest album, Divide. Seriously, every song is so good. I particularly love Galway Girl, Happier, and Barcelona though. Definitely give it a listen if you haven't yet!

Reading: I'm a big fan of Rose over at The Londoner. If you haven't checked out her site, you really should, it's always so well written and the photos are gorgeous. The anglophile in me loves following along on her London life as well as her amazing travels all over the world! She recently posted about getting engaged (yay!) and while I loved the story, I really loved how eloquent she wrote about it and also how she discussed her feelings on sharing personal things on her own site. It's basically something I've always wanted to write but never was able to form the words as eloquently as her. It's definitely worth a read!

Reading II: This AdWeek article on Heinz's latest campaign. If you are a MadMen lover, you are going to want to check this out. It's brilliant.

Drinking: Botanist gin. My uncle had this at the lake this summer and it is SO good. Pittsburgh has finally gotten their act together and I can now buy it at the state store! It's now by far my favorite gin. It's so smooth and easy to drink-- even better than Hendrick's (which is usually my go-to). I definitely recommend trying it out!

Watching: Guys, if you've been around Summer Wind for a while, then you know how obsessed I am with Bewitched. I own all of the seasons on DVD. I haven't watched in a while and just started rewatching. SO. Much. Inspiration. Definitely, check out the series if you haven't. Elizabeth Montgomery is so beautiful and her style is impeccable. I want to be Samantha Stevens when I grow up ;)

Quoting: 'I like the kind of people that get excited over the stars at night.'// See more of my favorites, here.
