Shop the Look:
I haven't done much of Henry update so I thought today would be the day! I've had Henry for almost 10 months exactly. On December 16, it will be an entire year! I really can't get over how fast time flies.
This past weekend, I took Henry to the pumpkin patch. We went to Soergel's Farm. If you are from Pittsburgh, I highly recommend it because it is so well done and there is so much more to do other than just picking pumpkins!
Funny story. I thought/assumed that dogs were allowed- I remember the last time I went I saw a dog and it's all outdoors, so I just assumed. The day we went, there were SO many people there. The crowds rove me nuts and we ended up not staying very long... think Disney World peak season or a sample sale.
Henry was SO good with all of the people, though, and was thoroughly enjoying sniffing around the pumpkin patch. We walked him down to the market and all around. People were commenting on how cute he was and I was showing him off. I started to realize that out of all of the hundreds of people, not another soul had a dog with them.
I started to wonder if Henry was allowed. Sure enough, we eventually passed a sign that said 'we have farm dogs working so keep your dogs in your car.' Whoops. But there was staff everywhere and no one told us to take Henry out so we just kept enjoying ourselves! So, moral of the story is that no, Soergels is not dog-friendly, but I'm glad I got some cute photos of Henry there because it was his first and last time at the patch!
Summer was so much fun with him because there were so many outdoor opportunities. But honestly, I think right now is even better. The cooler weather feels so much more comfortable on walks for both of us!
He's very respectful with furniture and my things- he always has been! One thing that I have been trying to correct is that if there are socks on the floor, he grabs them and plays with them. It's partially my fault for leaving the socks on the floor but he also needs to know that they are not for playing! So that is what we are working on right now!
I'm also proud of him because he's gotten to the point where he sits at the door and waits to be let in without me even having to say anything. He also sits on the elevator and stays until I say we can get off and he walks right by my side (for the most part) on walks without pulling.
All-in-all, I couldn't imagine life without Henry. He is just pure joy and happiness and makes my life so much better!
