Lately

Are you all having a great new year so far? The year has begun without a hitch which is always a good thing! January is always a bit boring. It's usually gray and cold and dark which is not inspiring. But I do have some things to look forward to as we are going to Charleston next month and going skiing! We also have a fun Mexico trip in April. Our family friend is having a destination wedding, so my parents, sister, and brother-in-law are all going on top of many family friends, so we are all extending the trip to a week. I think it will be so much fun to be with everyone!

This weekend, I'm getting together with girlfriends, and my aunt and uncle will be in town, so we're getting together with them, too!

In case you missed it, I shared a reflection earlier this week as well as my favorite things from 2023! I had a great holiday break and was able to truly relax and enjoy myself, but as I said in my reflection, it feels good to be back in the swing of things.

This is kind of a weird observation, but lately, have you noticed, in your local community, people seem to be friendlier than what is typical? I don't know if it is just me, but everyone I have come in contact with lately has been so kind and pleasant and seems more outgoing than usual! I am here for it!!

Wearing: My mom and I are both loving this $35 Cardigan. It has a white base but there is subtle gray metallic thread running through it. It slightly shimmers in the right light. I love that it is warmed up with the gold buttons. You'd truly never give this cardigan a second glance if you see the website photo- it doesn't do it justice in any way! Are you following me on the LikeToKnowIt app?! You can shop all of my outfits, favorite finds, and more in the app. I am constantly updating it with the latest! You can also access all of my posts, here, if you don't use LTK!

Eating: It seems many of you are in the same boat, hoping to cook more at home in 2024. It's always our goal, but we get off kilter during busier periods. The entire last 4ish months of the year, we ate out and got takeout more often than not. It is what it is, but onward and upward!

Anyway, it might be helpful for us all if I crowd-source your favorite easy weeknight recipes. I'm thinking 30 minutes of prep time or less; bonus points if it's decently healthy, and the ingredients are things most people have on hand.

You can submit your recipe, here. Links to recipes will work best as they're easiest to share. You can add in any cooking notes/substitutions, etc.

I'll put together a blog post of the submissions, and it will be like we have a little cookbook to choose from. There are SO many amazing recipes out there, and choosing can be overwhelming. If I get too many submissions, I may break it down and do 10 recipes here, and there so we have fresh ones to choose from and don't get too overwhelmed with too many options.
Reading: I just started reaching Recursion which my sister loaned me. I am not a big sci-fi reader but she says this is really good! So far so good!

Sale: Oka has the most beautiful furniture and housewares and they're having a big seasonal sale! The selection is small, but the discounts are huge, so I thought it was worth sharing.

Lilly Pulitzer is also having their bi-annual sunshine sale! This green dress is my #1 rec! I'd suggest sizing down. I'm between a 2 and 4 and got a 4 in this but wish I had gotten a 2!

White and Warren is one of my go-to brands for cashmere and they are having a sale! I'm eyeing this travel wrap in neon peony!

Another brand of cashmere I love- this yellow sweater is just stunning and on sale!

Watching:
You all recommended the show Buccaneers on Apple TV, and I have loved it! The acting is average, but the sets and costuming are lovely, and the plotline is like a Victorian Gossip Girl x Bridgerton situation. I still have 1 episode left in the series.

My husband and I also rewatched Severance which is on Apple TV! We watched it a long time ago, and it was one of our favorite shows. It is SO good. You all need to watch it. It's bizarre and especially takes some getting used to in the first few episodes, but it's just too good once you get into it! Season 1 ends on such a cliffhanger. I'm on pins and needles for Apple to share the season 2 release date!

I finished The Crown in its entirety. I could write a book on how much I loved this series. It is 6 seasons, and what is wild is that the 1st season came out in 2016, so this has been going on for 7 years! I remember sitting in my apartment when I started it. I didn't have Henry and wasn't dating my husband. Crazy! I think it is one of the highest-quality productions of our time. The costumes, the sets, and the acting are all superb. The end almost made me shed a tear. They wrapped it up so perfectly.

Loving: This bag gives Bottega vibes for less than 1/10th of the price! It's back in stock this week in this deep brown color, which is my favorite. It's so well made.

Wanting: This yellow jacket
is just gorgeous. It feels so bright and cheery. We are going to Charleston next month, and I am adding this to my wish list for our trip! Love this Hunza Z swimsuit on sale. These blue and white napkins are on major sale and give me Schumacher Pyne Hollyhock vibes.

Pittsburgh: Did you all know they jump into the Mon on New Year's Day? Would you do this?! I can promise you I wouldn't. If it was a lake or ocean, maybe, but definitely not a Pittsburgh river. It's for charity, so I have great respect for all those who participated!

Amazon Rec: These shoe clips/charms look designer for $10ish! They're currently sitting in my Amazon cart. Fun things to have on hand to jazz up a pair of old shoes! You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here on my Amazon page where I am constantly updating it with all of my finds and top picks from home, beauty, fashion, and more!

Quoting: 'You can't compete with me because I want you to win, too.' // See more of my favorites, here.
