I know some have sworn off social media entirely, and some sporadically pop in and out. I believe social media can be a powerful and positive tool, but I also believe it can be somewhat of a vice if you let it. So, I am focusing on my website more this year than last. I am so thankful for anyone who reads here, and I greatly appreciate it! I hope you enjoy this popping up in your inbox from time to time! There may be a few bumps as I get used to sending this out and working out the tweaks, so stick with me! Also, I won't be offended if you unsubscribe. I realize 5 emails a week is a lot, but I hope you find the content valuable or at least entertaining and stick around!
This week has been a bit miserable with the weather. So much wind and rain. Ick! Next week, we're getting into the teens and single digits. I polled you all about what you love about winter because I think sometimes, when the weather is downright awful, we need to remind ourselves that there ARE good things about this season. some of your responses made me laugh, and some were truly thoughtful. So, I'll share that in an upcoming post.
This week was smooth sailing. I relish this time of year. Q4 is so busy with work, and January is pretty slow. I welcome that slowness as it gives me time to spend with my family and friends and do things for fun like reading, working out, decorating, cooking, etc.
My husband was out of town last weekend, so I got together with girlfriends as our husbands traveled together. My aunt and uncle were also in town, so I had some delicious meals with them at my parent's house!
Wearing: Love this sweater so much. It's so soft and classic. I am wearing a small- it runs pretty large so I would say size down! I think I may exchange for a size XS! Are you following me on the LikeToKnowIt app?! You can shop all of my outfits, favorite finds, and more in the app. I am constantly updating it with the latest! You can also access all of my posts, here, if you don't use LTK!Wearing II: I really love this cardigan I just bought. It's very cropped but has a pretty tweed look to it, but it is stretchy and warm like a sweater. It's perfect to pair with high-waisted pants. I love the other color option, too; I was honestly torn on which to get! I'm wearing a size small, and it fits roomy, but I wouldn't size down because I'd be afraid it would be too short.
Eating: We had tomato potato soup this weekend, which was prepared by my parents. It's my grammie's recipe, and I get it to share with you all. I shared it on social media, but in case you didn't have a chance to screenshot it, here it is. It's the perfect cozy winter soup and a good thing to eat if you're trying to do a meatless meal here and there. I think the more pepper and the more onions you add, the better!
Drinking: This was a good under $20 cab I enjoyed this weekend. It tasted pricier than the tag suggests and was dry and flavorful. It had a nice depth of flavors but wasn't super heavy. I'd say this would be a great starter red for someone wanting to move from a Pinot Noir to a cab!
Drinking: I've shared the mixed berry Chobani complete with you all many times before. I've never tried another flavor that I really love until last week when I spotted vanilla at Whole Foods! I can't stand 'fake' flavors and was sure this would taste fake. It's not!!! It tastes absolutely delicious. I think this may be my new favorite flavor! Hot tip: it's 70 cents less per bottle at Walmart vs. Whole Foods!
Sale: This dress is on sale plus you get an extra 20% off with code EXTRA20. I'm in love with it. If you have a winter wedding to attend, this is the dress! This dress is also on sale- my mom and I have both worn it, and it is FABULOUS. It looks so much more $$$ in person.
Watching: Have you all seen the Feud: The Swans vs Capote trailer? I think this looks like it could be amazing! We just started Slow Horses on Apple TV and are enjoying it so far!
Loving: I just finished up this shampoo. I don't know if I have ever used the Redken brand before, but I got this in a PR package, and I loved it! It's super hydrating, cleans well, and smells delightful. I would definitely recommend this and will likely purchase another bottle. Whenever I finish a bottle of shampoo, I like to move on to another, even if it is just alternating back and forth between two, because I read somewhere a LONG time ago that our hair can get used to products, and it's good to switch it up once you finish a bottle of something. I don't know if that's actually true, but it works well for me!
Wanting: This jewel neck sweater is too good. Very Samantha Stevens. And how about this one with pearls all over?! This swimsuit is so chic. I love the cut and the colors, but I'd be concerned about potentially awkward tan lines; what do you think? A shacket I can get behind! These flats are CHIC!
Amazon Rec: When putting away our Christmas decor, I realized we had amassed a nice little collection of mugs. I ordered this to store our mugs and protect them until I bring them out next year. These are great quality storage bags, and they make them for china and glassware, too! You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here on my Amazon page where I am constantly updating it with all of my finds and top picks from home, beauty, fashion, and more!

The soup sounds yummy, I’m going to make it. What strikes me more than the recipe is Grammie’s beautiful handwriting.
I will screenshot it and enjoy looking at her handwriting as I am making the soup. Thank you!
Patricia
I love the tweed J Crew jacket, but my gosh, it’s so short. I am 5’9 and so many of their styles are cropped now and impossible for me to wear.
