We had such a fun little Valentine's Day trip to Charleston. I'm missing it already! The weather was fabulous; we just enjoyed walking, eating, drinking, and shopping! We are in Maryland right now, and then next week, head on a little ski trip with family and friends! Lots of fun this February! We will try to stay put for March, and then April is when we head off to Mexico with so many family and friends for a wedding. Then we are turning it into a vacation with everyone pre- and post-wedding! That will likely be our last wedding for quite some time as most of our friends and family are now married and I think in probably like 4-5ish years, we will start on a new wave of weddings with younger family and friends.
I've been focusing on all of this in the first half of the year, and I just realized that we haven't planned anything for the second half of the year. I'm going to start brainstorming some quick weekend getaways for early fall!
Drinking: The Den is a cozy little bar in the back of the Frannie and the Fox restaurant in Charleston and I had one of the best cocktails I've ever tasted! It was called the Tomato and I was so unsure what I was ordering before it arrived. I assumed it would be more like a Bloody Mary, but no! It is hard to describe the taste but it is so lightly flavored by a tomato, I couldn't figure out how they got that flavor so I asked the bartender. He said that they lightly muddled one grape tomato. I would never have thought to muddle a tomato in my cocktail, but it just works. The savory pepperoncini and cracked pepper are perfectly balanced out by the brightness of the lemon. It was such a treat and I am totally going to try and recreate this at home. I'm thinking 'pepperoncini shrub' is just a fancy way to say 'pepperoncini brine'- maybe they add a little sugar? I will report back if I ever perfect this at home.

Sale: This Emilia Wickstead dress is stunning, and I can't get over the sale price! New items were added to the TB sale!
Watching: On one of our flights, I watched a Netflix documentary called Lover, Stalker, Killer, and it's about as crazy as it sounds. If you love murder mystery documentaries, this one is for you. It starts off a little slow, but the twist is truly insane.
Loving: I have had this pattern on my wish list for ages. It's pricey, and while I've seen the gorgeous dinner plates in person, what I've really wanted are the mugs, but I've held off because I couldn't get a clear idea if they were large enough for my morning coffee. The ounces are different on so many sites that sell this mug, so I was always left confused. I finally saw them in person at the most beautiful boutique in Charleston called 'The Boutique, ' filled with exquisite china and linens. There was so much eye candy my husband had to drag me out! Anyway, to my pleasant surprise, the mugs are big! So I want to start collecting them. I will get either the blue or the pink first, but over the years, I would love to collect all of the colors.

Loving II: I got a zit while traveling to Charleston and realized I did not have my beloved Mario Badescu drying lotion. My husband had this acne gel, so I gave that a whirl. I just spot-applied on the zit after cleansing at night, and the zit was pretty much gone by morning. It worked so well, and I think that this might be even better than MB because it was not as drying. My husband says he uses it like a toner and applies it all over his face as he has very acne-prone and sensitive skin. He is Tula's biggest fan, which cracks me up.
Wanting: I don't need a pillow to call me out, but I do love it. This dog treat jar is ADORABLE! I think Henry needs it! This embellished pink sweater is on sale for under $100- so fabulous! I'm constantly keeping an eye out for fun, colorful dresses for our Mexico trip, and I love this dress so much!
Pittsburgh: We are checking out the new Barcelona wine bar that opened up a month or two ago! I am excited. I went to the one in DC years ago and loved it!
