The cutest jacket, thanks to August Morgan, but be forewarned, it's *very* cropped. I wish it were a few inches longer!
Got my dream mug for Christmas! Is it weird that I have a 'dream mug'?! Yes.
How fun are these?!
Happy first 'Lately' post of the year, which continues to be the most popular weekly post! This is going to be a long one, considering I've been on holiday break, and even though I didn't do that much, I still have quite a bit to share, so get comfortable!
I hope everyone is staying safe and warm! It's been frigid and snowy here!
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in California affected by the horrible wildfires. I will be donating here but am also actively looking for somewhere to donate to an animal cause. When the North Carolina disaster happened a few months ago, I found an amazing shelter to donate to and am looking for something similar. If I find something reputable, I will share with you all.
Did you all have a great holiday? We did. Nothing crazy new to report, as we enjoyed time with family and friends and all of the traditions that come with the season. Family in town is always nice, so we can all be together.
I had the craziest November and December. I've never been so busy. Even leading up to my wedding, I wasn't that busy. I am so thankful for all the fantastic work opportunities that came my way in the last quarter and the fun plans we enjoyed with family and friends. Though, I definitely burnt the candle at both ends. I felt so exhausted by the end, and I hope you don't read into that as a complaint but rather a fact that I dealt with! I was so grateful to be able to give myself a break over Christmas and New Year's!
Besides cleaning and organizing, I didn't do anything exciting to report. I relaxed, slept a lot, wore many pajama sets and lounge clothes, watched more TV than usual, and it was exactly what I needed.
I am not naturally creative. One of the things about this job, though, is that creativity is necessary. Coming up with new content daily takes much more creativity than you may imagine. Being so busy with work can sometimes be a curse as I lack free time to get inspired. It's a catch-22 because free time without work helps me in the long run with work! In November and December, I lacked the time to come up for air, so these past two weeks gave me the freedom to get inspired, and it worked! I am excited to tackle this year with fun and fresh content. I have a list with so many ideas!
Cozy Hat on major sale
Wearing: I've received many requests from you all for 'everyday' outfit inspiration and hear you loud and clear! We all need a palate cleanser after the sequins and feathers of the holiday season. I reach for many cozy lounge pieces in January at home, but I aim to dress up a little more than that this month as that's when I feel my best. By 'dress up' I mean wearing jeans instead of lounge clothes. So I'm on it with sharing more casual but put-together looks.
Are you following me on the LikeToKnowIt app?! You can shop all of my outfits, favorite finds, and more in the app. I am constantly updating it with the latest! You can also access all of my posts, here, if you don't use LTK! You can also find me on ShopMy, another shopping platform!
Wanting: The Kravet x PB collection is SO good!!! I have these gorgeous pink pants, and I need to add the sweater to my wardrobe for a color-drenched outfit to battle the January gray! This is a stunning winter wedding guest dress that could also be worn year-round to dressy events! These are fun and fancy ballet flats that could dress up jeans! This reversible faux shearling jacket is chic! Classic mariner striped tees in several colorways under $20! This colorful ski pants and jacket combo is SO fun and reasonably priced, too! This is a fun top! Love this white faux fur jacket so much! This vest looks like Varley but costs about half what Varley would charge! This top and shorts set looks like something Samantha Stevens would wear on holiday! This ski boot bag is PERFECT in every way! A La Ligne look for WAY less. I ordered both striped colors on Tuesday to review, but of course, they are already sold out and mine don't even arrive until Saturday! Linking them, though, in case they come back. 100% cotton, too. Crazy deal.
Eating: It's soup season! I love stuffed cabbage so I want to try and make this stuffed cabbage soup!
Drinking: I've never tried matcha before so that's on my to-do list!
Reading: Coming soon is a big book list. I asked you all to recommend ONE book that you would highly recommend that you have read recently, and SO many of you sent in recommendations!!
Sale: The biggest sale news is that I got an email from the J. McLaughlin team earlier this week, and they gave me a 20% off code that will be valued for the whole month of January! From now through January 31st, you can get 20% off full-price items with code SYDNEY20! They usually only give me a code around the holidays that lasts 3ish days, so this is great!
My Dermstore code, SUMMERWIND has also been renewed!
They are releasing new Clifton sneakers soon so the 9's are on sale!
Watching: I watched a lot of TV over the holidays, and right now, I'm so excited for the 90 Day Fiance Before the 90 Days reunion this Sunday. What a wild show!!! I'll put together a blog post about everything I watched because they are all worth mentioning and great for going through if you are hunkering down this winter!
Listening: I'm so sad to leave the Christmas music behind. I love it so much! I'm back to my Weather Channel playlist. I don't like working in silence, but I find it hard to concentrate with music playing that has words. I call this the 'Weather Channel' playlist because it's all that smooth jazz music you would hear in the 90s when turning on the Weather Channel, and it would scroll through all of the forecasts. It's easy listening at its finest: Lee Ritenour, David Benoit, Dave Grusin, Chris Botti, Kenny G, George Benson, Dave Koz, etc. I updated it last week with more songs, so it's 'fresh.'
Loving: Lake launched its new collection, including some cute Valentine's Day prints. They sent me this cute shorts set! I sent a set to my sister for her birthday, which is TODAY! She is a Lake jammies gal, too!
Loving II: Nothing better than a fresh pair of slippers. These made my 2024 favorites list!

Amazon Rec: I tried these press-on nails over the holidays and ended up really liking them. I got them in a PR package a year or two ago and never thought I'd actually try press on nails. One evening, I had time and decided to try them out. They are not like the press on nails from 2001. They fit my nails so well that it looked like I got a dip manicure. They also stuck to my nails so well and did not pop off a day later like I remember in the early 2000s. Applying only took 10 minutes, so they are perfect in a pinch. I love that they are OPI, so you can get the colors you know and love. I didn't like the color I was sent- it had a cat eye shimmer sheen- but I ordered Big Apple Red and Bubble Bath, which are two of my favorites!
You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here on my Amazon page where I am constantly updating it with all of my finds and top picks from home, beauty, fashion, and more!
Traveling: I polled all of you on IG about where you are itching to travel domestically and internationally. I will compile a list for anyone else who is looking for some 2025 travel inspo!

SoCal reader here! Pasadena Humane is taking on so many of the animals affected by the fires (including horses, which are very difficult to evacuate). I also volunteer/foster with Frosted Faces (senior dog rescue) in Ramona, CA and can confirm they're an incredible place to donate to. The area is not directly affected by the fires, but the founders spent all of yesterday pulling dogs from the affected areas to make space/save resources and they're going to keep doing so all week.
Another animal shelter you might consider is Agoura Animal Care Center in Agoura Hills. They have also taken in pets and do every time there is a fire/disaster. My daughter lives in Agoura Hills and I have been past there many times. It is a no kill shelter and has a really nice outdoor area for the animals.
