Necklace (use code SYDNEY-20)
Jacket (another Quince piece that the brand sent me)
I snapped this the other night because I was laughing at myself about all of the patterns.
I hope you all have had a great week! I really can't believe we are STILL in January. I see the memes floating around about January being long, but my gosh has anyone else felt like this month is never ending?! March is my least favorite month of the year, so January usually doesn't bother me much, but the extreme cold and snow are really a downer! However, the forecast looks bright, literally and figuratively, and I will gladly take non-extreme temperatures and some peeks of the sun! It's supposed to get up to 47 tomorrow, which is basically tropical at this point, and Henry and I will go on the longest walk ever!
This week was pretty basic, but I did get to go skiing yesterday! We finally had a good powder day. The local conditions over the past few years have not been the best, so this was a great day!
We had a fun, low-key weekend with takeout and watching Severance on Friday. We tried out a new restaurant on Saturday, and Sunday, we went to our friend's for football and dinner. This weekend is likely to be similar.
I mentioned last week we were planning a trip to Newport in a few months for my birthday, and we booked that! Thanks to all who shared their tips and recs! I'm so excited to finally have a trip on our calendar to look forward to. I also mentioned we are thinking of going to Europe this summer. We are still in the early planning stages but are making strides on that, which is great!
Scarf is Hermes and I rounded up some similar options here.
Wearing: After I posted this blog post about Quince, they sent me a message asking to send me a few pieces of their women's clothing. I was excited and selected this Cashmere Cardigan as so many of you raved about their sweaters, and I took your advice. I am BLOWN away by this cashmere cardigan. I love cashmere, and the one my husband got from Quince as a Christmas gift from my parents is nice for the price, but I have some nicer cashmere in my wardrobe, so I wasn't rushing out to place my cashmere order. Well, I should eat my words because this cashmere cardigan (priced higher than their 'basic' cashmere, but still a great buy) is one of the nicest cashmere sweaters I've ever owned. It's meant to look like a 'designer' cardigan (IYKYK) but at a fraction of the cost. I can't get over how beautiful and thick the knit is. This is one of those sweaters you'll be wearing 20 years from now. I got a size small and it fits true to size.

Eating: I'm obsessed with pickled beets right now. I've always loved beets but recently rediscovered them. Do you all have any favorite brands I should try? This was a snack plate from the other day. I love a good snack plate.
Drinking: You have to try out a double espresso with vanilla cream cold foam on top. It's basically a macchiato and it's delicious. I love the rich espresso flavor and then the slight sweetness from the foam. YUM!
Sale: These espadrille wedges are a warm-weather favorite of mine. They are natural, so they pair with everything and are so comfortable! On sale right now for $44 which is a crazy price. They run pretty true to size. I wear size 9 and got the 39, but if you are between sizes and have a more narrow foot, size down.
I also just published a list of all of my active discount codes. Tomorrow is the last day for my J. McLaughlin discount code, SYDNEY20.
Watching: I started watching S*x Lives of College Girls on HBO and I'm enjoying it. The episodes, albeit often vulgar, are quick, witty, light, and have an enjoyable story line.
Loving: Have you all seen Williams Sonoma's latest brand, Greenrow? It's pricey and seems to skew a little more Bohemian than I like, but there are some gems! Curious to watch this brand unfold and see if it succeeds!
Wanting: This dresser is gorgeous. The Lilly new arrivals are so fun and colorful. This shift is perfection, and the cut on this swimsuit is classic! I love this cozy and colorful vest that would be so fun over workout clothes! These blue and white dinner plates are calling my name. I'm very into this ladylike handbag. This suede bag is also gorgeous and classic. A fun jacket if you are headed out west. A classic little black dress at a great price. I am so glad they brought this swimsuit back. I have it and love it! This sweater is so cute for the golf lover. This sweater is on sale, and I LOVE it- so classic. Loving this very affordable stoneware splatterware. Cutest cable cardigan sweater. This denim top is under $100 and very Samantha Stevens. So cute with white jeans this spring and even linen shorts come summer. A Tiffany bone cuff look for under $60. This bag is so good in red. This toggle cardigan is an absolute classic.
Pittsburgh: We went to dinner at Arlecchino this weekend. It's been around for many years here in Pittsburgh (in the South Hills) but I had never been. I've honestly not heard many people mention it either. Well, I have been sorely missing out all of these years because that was some of the best food I've ever eaten in Pittsburgh. It's all classic Italian fare and the portions are HUGE. I would recommend going with a group of people so you can share. I loved their Vodka pasta so much and I will dream of that salad until I return. Thre greens and beans were the best I've ever had. They also had a great wine list, including a fave, Red Schooner, which is what we ordered! The service was also fantastic.
Amazon Rec: My entire cart is filled with restocks right now. I have run out of so much at the same time recently. Here's what I'm ordering:
- The best under $10 brow pencil (just as good as Anastasia)
- Body Wash that my husband and I both use and love. It comes in a large bottle, and I love the pump dispenser.
- Best thick nighttime lip balm. It's pricey, but I love it and constantly re-order. It stays on all night and really does plump and hydrate my lips. It's far superior to Laneige.
- Refill cleaning capsules. These lasted us almost exactly one year. It's what I use to clean most of the surfaces in our home. I know everyone is currently worried about Norovirus. Supposedly, surface cleaners and sanitizers cannot kill Norovirus (do your own research), but this works to kill Norovirus (only on hard, nonporous surfaces with that claim). It's clean/nontoxic, etc. I've been using it for years and love it! It's a bit costly initially because you need the 'gadget,' but it's worth it, in my opinion.
- This sparkling water. My favorite sparkling water- the flavor is so light and fresh. I enjoy one of these around that 3pm slump as a little pick-me-up.
- I'm convinced that this is the best basic lip balm around. SO smooth and hydrating on the lips. The perfect solution for daily wear.

Traveling: Did you catch my 2025 travel inspiration post earlier this week?
Quoting: 'Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.' - Ralph Waldo Emmerson //See more of my favorites, here.
