You all know my Everest obsession over the last couple of months. I was absolutely jazzed to see Will Cross's Everest suit on dispaly at the Heinz History museum. He is a local Pittsburgher and one of the first men with Type 1 diabetes to summit Everest. SO cool and probably the closest I will ever get to Everest, ha!!
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood exhibit from Heinz History. In case you didn't know, Fred Rogers was born in Latrobe, PA, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh and spent much of his life right here in Squirrel Hill. He was also a fellow Nantucket fan. The first episode of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood aired in 1968. I was incredulous when my 15 year old niece didn't know what Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was- that made me feel so old! I've read a lot about Fred Rogers over the years and I am a big fan. What a truly good soul. I do feel like since Mr. Rogers was Pittsburgh-based, many of us locals have extra love and appreciation for him! I also love to hear the stories of my Papap (mom's dad) who was a talented guitar player who would play with Joe Negri (Handyman Negri)! I always thought that was so neat and very Pittsburgh.
Heinz gal for life!
Love this striped cotton pullover I just got! Packed it with me for Nantucket! It's on sale under $100 right now! I got a medium and it's very roomy/oversized!
I'm currently in Nantucket, so I scheduled this a bit ahead of time. There are no actual Nantucket updates, but I will share more next week once I am home and settled back in. I hope you are all having a good week!
We had a fun weekend. We had a block party, ate my favorite Mexican food, and then my mother-in-law and niece visited for the day! We went to Kaya for lunch, spent the afternoon at the Heinz History Museum, and capped it off with a $5 Grandpa Joe's candy box. It was a quintessential Pittsburgh day and so fun despite the rain!
We also took Henry to a new boarding facility for the day to test him out there and see how he liked it. I am not going to sugarcoat; it made me anxious, and I still don't know how I feel about the place. We may be back to the drawing board. He isn't boarded often- only when we absolutely need to. My parents usually watch him, so we are very lucky! It's so frustrating trying to find someone to care for him that I can trust, who is not a family member or close friend. Granted, I am picky!
Dress (on sale)
Wearing: 'Tis the season for throwing on a lightweight sundress and flat sandals! We had some hot weather late last week and into the weekend so I was excited to finally get to sport some sundresses! These are two easy throw-on styles that are adorable. I am wearing a small in both. The light blue embroidered shorter dress runs a little big. I am wearing a small but probably should have gotten the XS.

Wanting: Pricey for coasters, but wow, these are so beautiful. A gorgeous and classic shirtdress at a great price point. A gorgeous cocktail dress perfect for events year round! Skincare prices are out of control, but I do have to say I'm sooooo intrigued by this product and this brand. I really want red linen pants. A halter top feels very late 90s/early 2000s, but this one feels classic, and I find that halter tops look best on my broad shoulders! A simple, timeless white dress. My code SUMMERWIND10 should work on this. This dress has the most stunning, vintage vibe. This bag is subtly elegant. This lobster sweater is adorable and under $100. Classic summer low block heel sandals- love. A Pucci-esque bikini. A perfect dress option for the 4th of July. Darling hydrangea pajamas. Love the deep V on this tee, I'm considering an order! TB bringing back Revas and Millers? What do you think?! A classic summer sweater that will never be out of style. A casual dress that made me say WOW. Pricey handbag, but wow is it fun! This is an adorable under $50 graduation gift for a girl! I would have lost my mind if they had this when I was in college, ha! The most fun pants for a beach getaway! The cutest kitchen towels. A fun under $50 vacation bracelet to wear with swimsuits! This laptop case is on my wish list!
Eating: I've really been loving the Bettergoods brand from Walmart lately. The shredded cheese mixes are SO good. I particularly love the cheddar, gruyere, and gouda trio.
Eating II: This guy's tuna recipe is super intriguing. I'm going to try it out. I love tuna salad!
Drinking: Green tea is my favorite! I drink a cup daily around 3pm. The Harney and Sons Citron Green Tea is my go-to. I was looking around for cold brew green tea options and found this brand that has packets almost like Crystal Light and they are 'tea crystals' and the only ingredient in them is green tea and you can pour into cold water- like if you are in the car, on a flight, etc. I'm wondering if any of you have tried it and how does it taste? It's pricey for tea, but there is a 90-day money back guarantee so I may order it and try it and can returm if I don't like it. If you have any other on-the-go green tea options (no hot water), I'm all ears!
Reading: Apparently, a newer ant in town is carnivorous and stings. Um, no thanks! A palate cleanser article that will warm your heart after reading about those ants!
Watching: We just started Zero Day on Netflix, a series starring Robert Deniro. It's OK so far- keeping me intrigued. I just love him as an actor! I downloaded Better Sister on Amazon Prime to watch on my flight as I've been hearing good things. It stars Jessica Biel who I will always think of as Mary Camden from 7th Heaven.

Pittsburgh: We went to Rockaway pizza which just opened a new location in Regent Square. My husband has been dying to go. Pizza is his favorite food and he has been on a mission for years to try every pizza in Pittsburgh. Once when I was out of town, he drove all the way to the OG Rockaway location (which was fary away) and has been raving about it for years ever since! I shared my list of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh and Rockaway made the list! It truly is worth the hype. They sell out of their pizzas quickly so getting there early is key. We showed up around 4:30pm on a Wednesday and the wait time for pizza was an hour an 40 minutes. We ended up waiting a bit less than that. You get a text 15ish minutes before your pizza is ready. I bet D's and Frick Park Tavern have an uptick in business for drinks because people go there to wait it out. They sell out pretty quickly, too, so you really do want to early if you want to get a pizza. The Italian hoagie was also delicious, but I'd save room for just the pizza next time and that's coming from someone who would say they love Italian hoagies a lot more than pizza. They also have slices you can grab in their case. It's worth the wait! I love pizza, but it's not my favorite thing ever. This is crave-worthy! I can't stop thinking about it. The vodka pizza was unreal and we tried 4 different slices which were all amazing. I know this place is not a secret but I almost hesitate to gush about it because it's already hard enough to snag a slice! But good for them- so deserving of all of the success!
Amazon Rec: I ordered these floral pajamas on a whim not knowing what to expect and wow, they are one of my better Amazon finds. Between the red sanadals from last week and these, I am on a roll! This is a very lightweight, almost linen fabric and the top fully buttons down the front. The top is an oversized swing-style fit and the shorts have an elastic waist and pockets. I do think the shorts run a touch small so definitely size up. I got a size medium!

Traveling: I'm on Nantucket right now, but we don't have any travel plans until we go to the lake later this summer and then to Portugal at the end of summer! I'm happy to spend time at home, but I've started to brainstorm a few quick weekend fall getaways—any recs? I hope we are able to make it to Keeneland this year! It has been too long!

I LOVE iced green tea this time of year! My "hack" is to put a teabag in a glass of water in the fridge overnight and you have a perfect glass of cold brew tea the next day.
