To me, there is nothing chicer than a white linen cover-up!
It feels elevated and never too try-hard, yet always looks exactly right whether at the beach, pool, or lake. It's relaxed but not boring. You see the 'Nancy Meyers' label being slapped onto everything on social media these days, but I truly think a long, linen cover-up feels so very 'Nancy Meyers' character around her garden pool with a glass of white wine and a book.'
The one I’m wearing above is from J.Crew last year. It’s no longer available, but I would be very surprised if they didn’t release a version of it again this year. It’s one of those staple pieces that brands tend to launch year over year because the cut and the fabric are timeless.
That said, you absolutely do not need this exact one. White linen cover-ups are everywhere. It’s less about the label and more about the silhouette and fabric.
I love the worn-in look of linen, and it's more versatile and less fussy than you might think. You can throw it over a swimsuit, wear it open with a bikini underneath, or even belt it and style it more like a dress for lunch. It transitions seamlessly from poolside to elsewhere, making it great for travel.
