The most fun delivery from RA! Paracord necklaces are really having a moment. I think I'll wear it with my swimsuit or sportier outfits!
Hope you're all having a great week! Prime Day is going on (they should really call it Prime Week at this point), which always makes things a little busier than usual around here. Did anyone score anything exciting? I mostly reordered my usuals on sale, but we are also now the proud owners of an immersion blender, which my husband is very happy about!
I almost ordered this TV, which is supposed to be a less costly competitor to the Frame TV! I grew up with a 'no TV in the bedroom' rule. However, I actually love having a TV in the bedroom as an adult. I sometimes watch TV to unwind at night, and my husband and I will watch a movie in bed if we don't have plans. I love watching something while I'm folding laundry, which I always do in my bedroom. And, of course, it's always nice to have it in there when I am under the weather! Do you all have TVs in your bedroom, or is it a no-no for you?!
Anyway, the TV in our bedroom is from my apartment from 10 years ago. It's a Vizio, and I thought it was on its last legs years ago, but it's still going! I'm kind of shocked because I didn't think TVs these days lasted this long (but they should!!!), and this was a budget buy! Anyway, I'd love to replace it with a Frame TV once it dies, but this 'look for less' is so enticing! It hasn't died yet, and I am not one to discard something that still works, so here we are! Maybe I'll snag it in October when they do another sale?! Or maybe I'll have this Vizio TV until I'm 40!!! If you all have the look for less TV, can you let me know how you like it?!
We had such a nice weekend. We went out to dinner and then to the symphony to see Appalachian Spring, which was truly a bucket-list experience for me. I've always been a fan of Aaron Copland, and hearing his music performed live was moving and even better than I'd imagined. Even better, the Pittsburgh Ballet performed alongside the orchestra, which made it even more special.
We also had dinner at a friend's house, where we sat outside sipping rosé and chatting long after the meal ended. We brought sparklers, which were a huge hit, and it truly felt like summer!! And of course, we celebrated my dad on Father's Day, which was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend.
This weekend is shaping up to be a quiet one, and I'm looking forward to that. If I'm being honest, my anxiety has been flaring recently. It tends to ebb and flow, and right now it's making itself known. It's often what propels me, but every once in a while, it holds me back. I've learned that workouts, time outdoors, being with people I love, and limiting screen time all make a meaningful difference, so that's what I'll be focusing on! I have gone on a LOT of walks this week, and I am so thankful we have had such beautiful weather!
I don't talk about it often because I never want to burden anyone else with my struggles, but I think it's important to acknowledge it from time to time. If you go through something similar, I hope it helps to know you're not alone. I am deeply grateful for this life and all the good in it, and so fortunate to have a wonderful support system. But even with all of the good and the support, anxiety can sometimes create a bumpy path for a bit!
Linen Dress/ (use code SYDNEY15)/ Shell Necklace
This dress is from a new-to-me brand. They sent me a few of their pieces, and they specialize in creating mostly natural-fiber pieces like cotton and linen. Many pieces are under $100 and such great quality.
Linen Dress (size down 1-2 sizes)
I mix lots of turquoise necklaces from many different brands, but the largest necklace in this stack is on sale!
I wear this tank once a week! Love these leggings, too. What I wore to Pilates.
Wearing: Lots of casual outfits for walks and workouts this week! And lots of casual dresses from this weekend!
You can find me on ShopMy, where I link all of my outfits, favorite finds, home decor, beauty, and more! I am constantly updating it with the latest! You can also follow me on the LTK app. Plus, you are able to access all of my posts, here, on my website!
Eating: We are not big frozen pizza people, but I always like to have a pizza or two in the freezer to have on hand in case, for example, we forget to defrost the chicken... which happens more than I'd like to admit. I had been lazy and didn't grocery shop in time for our dinner, so we whipped out the pizza the other night and paired it with a nice big mixed greens and veggie salad. My husband has very high pizza standards, and we both agreed this Italian five-cheese pizza was shockingly good... even the crust had good flavor. This was a white pizza, but they have different options. I'll try some other variations in the coming months to see how they are, and I will report back.
Sale: There are a LOT of sales going on right now.
One of my favorite perfumes is 15% off.
My husband has and loves this weekender bag in olive, and the black is currently on sale.
Because Shopbop is owned by Amazon, they have a Prime sale where many things are 25% off with code PRIME25. This dress is adorable. I love the look of these sandals because they're neutral but have some texture and a modest heel height! Some La Ligne on sale, which is rare! These very popular denim shorts are on sale! I have and love these wedge espadrilles that seemingly match with everything. They are incredibly comfortable!
Margaux, one of my favorite high-quality shoe brands, is having their archive sale with many of their timeless styles deeply discounted!! I have and love these ballet flats (size down a half size) and these block-heel leather sandals (true to size). I'm ordering these block heel 'flats'.
Watching: We are watching the new Harlan Coben show on Netflix, I'll Find You. We are only a few episodes in, but we are enjoying it. Some are definitely better than others, but we generally enjoy every HC show.
Listening: I'm not a big country listener, but I've been so into Steven Wilson Jr. I first found him when his cover of Stand by Me came up in my IG feed. It's hauntingly good. If Eddie Vedder sang country music, this is what it might sound like.
Wanting: Did you all see the Hill House x Williams Sonoma Collection?! The vegetable print is cute! The cutest shift dress for 4th of July- I didn't discover it in time for my 4th of July roundup earlier this week! This looks like the perfect summertime sleeveless top. This simple, elegant white dress is fabulous! These shorts are adorable and look so comfortable! The prettiest pants that look so comfortable yet elegant! Just ordered two of these bralettes because they are 92% cotton, so I'm hoping they are comfortable and soft! VV just launched an adorable Nantucket-inspired collection! I love this hydrangea basket bag, this shift dress, this swimsuit, and the piece de resistance: this sailboat cardigan! So curious about this new sneaker launch from one of my fave athletic sneaker brands! I love this set, I wish the skirt were a *touch* longer, but it's just too cute! Have you all heard about this newish loungewear brand? I love the look of this zip-up! I love my Stanley x LSF that I bought a few years ago. I use it daily. They just dropped some new ones! I still think a tabletop brand like Herend, Wedgwood, Ginori, etc., should collaborate with a tumbler brand. I would eat it up!!! Such cute red sandals. I love red sandals, they are such an easy way to add a pop of color in the summertime, and shockingly match with much more than you may think! I love the colors on this cocktail dress, perfect for a summer wedding guest! Have any of you tried this lip oil stain? I love a good stain, and this one applies like a lip oil while also staining the lips for lasting color. This white eyelet dress is timeless and on sale! These are such cool golf shoes!
Pittsburgh: I'm so excited to (soon) have another music venue, The Wylie, here in Pittsburgh. I feel we needed this!! It holds just 4000 people, which is larger than StageAE but significantly smaller than many other live music venues here, like Heinz Field and PPG. It opens this fall. We just got tickets for Chance the Rapper, and I am SO excited. It's his 10-year Coloring Book tour. This album came out just before my husband and I met. The first year we were dating, this was what we listened to on repeat! We both know every word to the entire album! Time is wild. I cannot believe that December marks the 10-year anniversary of when my husband and I met. It truly feels like it was yesterday!!
Amazon Rec: Today is the last day of Prime Day, and my picks are here. I also spied these sandals, which I have and love, on sale, and this pool/beach tote, which I also have and love, is included in the sale!
You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here on my Amazon page where I am constantly updating it with all of my finds and top picks from home, beauty, fashion, and more!
Smelling: This is a new scent from S+S that they sent me to try. To be honest, I was hesitant to even sniff it because I do *not* like the smell of lilies... like the actual flower. To me, the flower is usually way too overpowering and reminds me of funerals. Anyway, do not let the scent's name deter you if you also do not like lilies! It smells AMAZING! The scent notes are: Top — Yuzu, Green Apple, Bergamot. Heart — Matcha, Bamboo, Jasmine. Base — Lily, Musk, Amber, Cedar. It smells stronger than some of the other scents (I mean that in a good way) and is so fresh and vibrant, while still allowing the warmth of musk/amber/cedar to come through. I am seriously impressed with this. Basil and Neroli is my favorite, followed by Bergamot and Hinoki, and this one might beat out Bergamot and Hinoki for 2nd place. TBD!
Traveling: We are off to Charleston! I had asked you all for dinner recommendations as we had not been to Charleston since the fall of 2024. We have been to so many of the most popular spots, and we always return to places like 167, Melfi's, Hometeam, etc. Many of you recommended Chez Nous, Merci, Heavy's Barburger, and Palmira BBQ. I added all of those to our list!
