Wedding Wednesday: BHLDN Wedding Dress With My Sister

Over Thanksgiving, we went dress shopping with my sister, Callie! I shared it on instastories, so you can see video there in the highlights! But I also wanted to share it here on my blog for memories and because I know some of you are interested in shopping for your wedding dress at BHLDN

I hit pause on the Wedding Wednesdays for November/December but I'm back with weekly Wednesday posts. What reminded me to post this is that I saw BHLDN's beautiful shoot that they did at The Greenbrier, which as you all know is one of my favorite places. The spring 2020 gown collection was shot there and they're all so incredible. I love this blush pink one. Fun fact: I almost chose a blush pink wedding dress!!

In case you missed it, Callie is engaged to her high school sweetheart and they live in Charlotte, North Carolina. They will be getting married late spring 2021 here in Pittsburgh at Phipp's which is a beautiful conservatory/botanical garden. I can't wait!

For Pittsburghers who might not know, BHLDN recently opened early fall 2019 in the Anthropologie in Bakery Square. They had a really fun opening party which I attended! They carry everything from bridal accessories like veils, jewelry, etc. to bridesmaids dresses and wedding gowns! It is beautiful inside.

My mom, dad, Grammie, and Aunt Lindey also joined us! We were greeted with sparkling wine when we arrived which was such a fun little treat.

Bethany was our stylist and she was truly amazing and really made the entire experience so fun and successful! She was knowledgeable about all of the gowns and even knew what types of changes could be made to some of the dresses to get exactly the look that Callie wanted.

Just as a disclaimer, my sister has approved me to post these photos :)

Callie tried on about 5ish dresses. This dress, the Octavia Gown is the one Callie had been eyeing the most. It was so weird to see my little sister in a wedding gown- I always think of her as a baby!!! She looked stunning in every single one and to see the happiness on her face was so special.

We loved this one and she loved it, too. This was her runner up! The veil really made it and we all shed a tear once that was on. I love that Bethany suggested this beautifully beaded belt to pair with the Octavia gown. It added something extra and looked so good!

How gorgeous is this one?! We loved the intricate lace detailing and the very feminine feel to it. It also had a boho vibe to it which is true to Callie's personal style.

We LOVED the Piper! You can't tell in this photo, but the fabric is striped organza. The stripes added subtle texture and depth to a clean silhouette. You really need to see the gowns in person because the detailing and some of the fabrics are truly stunning.

Callie ended up choosing her dress that day!!! Look at her smile- she is so lit up!! All-in-all dress shopping with Callie was so much fun and I have to sing the praises of BHLDN. In a lot of dress boutiques/shops that I went to, it sometimes felt a little sales-y/pushy which is not the feeling you want when shopping for your dress! Bethany made our day and was so kind and helpful and was never once pushy! I wish BHLDN was in Pittsburgh when I was dress shopping!

You all know by now, but BHLDN also carries a ton of cocktail/formal dresses for events other than just weddings. I love browsing their selection- see a few of my favorites above.
