Spring Break

With spring break just around the corner, I've gotten several e-mails on what I bring on spring break so I thought this would be a fun post to do considering I'm headed to Key West tomorrow!

This is what I would pack for a 7 day tropical vacation. I would bring 5 bathing suits so you have choices but no more than that because I can never handle too many choices! I always have a beach tote and in that beach tote I like to have my sunglasses, sunscreen, a bottle of water, croakies, a koozie, my ipod, my blackberry, chap stick, and a towel. Sometimes I like to bring a sun hat or baseball hat if the sun is really harsh. I also like to bring several bathing suit cover ups. I think it's inappropriate to wander around a resort or anywhere other than poolside or beach side without a cover up on. I usually pack one neutral cover up that match most of my suits and then I bring some fun ones. For a week I would bring 4 cover ups. I also only bring one pair of beach flip flops. They are the kind that you can get wet and have no worries or ruining. Tory Burch makes a pretty cute pair and they aren't ridiculously pricey either.

As far as clothing goes, for a 7 day tropical trip, I tend to stick to dresses. This makes packing light and who doesn't love to wear a dress? I always pack a white dress so I can wear it towards the end of the week when I get a nice tan. I also tend to keep the jewelry pretty simple, however, I love turquoise and coral and gold jewelry so I usually bring a couple statement pieces.
I also bring a pair of white capris, pants, or shorts and a few tops that I can pair with them. I have a thing for rompers so I also toss a couple rompers into the mix just for options. As far as shoes go, I tend to stick to Jack Rogers.
I always have a little black dress on hand as well because you never know when an occasion will call for it!
