Summer Essentials
Happy June! Pool season has officially begun, so for those of you looking for some fun summer essentials, look no further, I've got them covered!
I LOVE my Camelbak water bottle. I have three and I don't use any other water bottle. However, I have always hated how it has no insulation to keep my water cold and when it's hot, the bottle sweats terrible. How I've only just found out about the "sleeves" just now is beyond me! At REI right now, it is only $7! Definitely worth it. Because they don't really have too many fun options, I am going to stick to black and then take it to my monogrammers....
And have them embroider my monogram right onto the sleeve. I'm not sure what color I'll get but I'm guessing hot pink. Adding a monogram to this will most definitely drive me to drink more water, and tote my Camelbak around in my purse during the hot months without it sweating all over my purse contents!
I actually have to say that at first I thought that Jack Rogers jelly sandals were a teensy bit on the tacky side... However, when trotting around pool side, it is necessary to have a fashionable sandal that will be able to handle getting wet. Fashionable AND waterproof sandals are near impossible to come by and these happen to mimic everyone's summer sandal staple, so finally, I've embraced the JR jelly.
When going to the pool, beach, lake, etc. I always have a koozie, hair tie, lip balm with spf, sun-in (it works SO well in my hair), and some sort of sunscreen/tanning lotion.
Craft supplies are fun to have on hand for rainy summer days, or even sunny days. I like to stock up at Michael's and I even have a craft box. The best is taking crafts to my lake house and doing them on the screened in porch before dinner. My big made me this adorable pink and green frame. Things like this are so simple to make and can really put a smile one someone's face!
Espadrilles/Wedges. They can be so fun and colorful. Plus, they are great for when you need to be a little dressier than flip flops, but not too dressy that you need to be in high heels. I also love the fact that these can look casual enough to wear with a sundress because they elongate your leg giving your legs the appearance of being thinner! The wedges above are kMl, me, kBm, and dSc when we were in Florida. Mine (the plaid, closed toe) are Tommy Hilfiger, the two pairs to the right of mine are Coach, and I'm not sure what brand the white pair are.
A pashmina is a great investment, and it is even better to have several in an array of colors. They are perfect for any season and make any outfit look elegant while keeping you warm. I love these for the beach at night, or in a cool restaurant. I especially love them over cocktail dresses, I think it adds an even more elegant touch!
What are your summer essentials? Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

I just got a pair of the jelly jack rogers, and I am with you... I cant decided if they are tacky or cute? I have found though that they are really hard to wear if they are wet...
I love wedges in the summer!
Loved these - all true!
And especially the camel back, because I'm a big water drinker! haha
This post makes me happy--so glad to be pulling out my summer essentials!
great summer essentials!
Love those jack rogers jellys but hadn't seen that color. any idea on where to get those? i hear the lilly jellys are good!
I have the same stuff in my pool/beach bag -the sun in. Your right about the jelly jacks... it's hard to have a cute sandal that can get wet. I also can't decide what I think about them yet.
