Tried and Buyed?

Recently I've come across several products that I really dislike. I like to hear others opinions on things like this, so here are some things I've tried recently that I would never try again.
Aveda hair products. I really don't like them. I tried them over Christmas break and the Shampure made my hair feel like straw. The conditioner is just as bad and doesn't do much for my hair at all. Has anyone tried this and liked it? The only thing I liked was the smell and even that wasn't that great. Replace this with something else I tried over Christmas break and loved?
L'Occitane Aromachologie shampoo and conditioner. This stuff makes me feel like I am at the spa every time I shower. It smells wonderful, it makes my hair feel soft and smooth and you don't have to use a ton to get that soft feeling.
I don't get the craze. In my opinion, it's not tasty. I'd much rather just drink water and save myself  the $4 a bottle.
I love my coffee. Seriously I can't go a day without it. I actually look forward to getting up each morning partly because of my warm coffee (kind of sad, but true). I drink mine black with a sprinkle of Splenda I am a bit picky though. I love a french roast and mostly anything really dark. I tried this Member's Mark (Sam's Club) Espresso Roast because it came in a giant bag. However, I hate to say it, it was no good. It had a weird after flavor that I was not a fan of. However, the french roast is wonderful!
So I might get a backlash from this dislike-- The J. Crew Minnie Pant. After hearing so many rave reviews about the pant, I decided to go into J. Crew. In fact, I had full intentions of purchasing the Pixie, the Minnie, and the toothpick ankle and all I walked out with was 2 headbands. Personally, the toothpick was fine, but I actually found a pair I loved more at Ralph Lauren. The Pixie was basically a legging and I didn't need another pair of leggings. Finally, the Minnie. To me, it was ill-fitting. Of course this all depends on body type. I just didn't think the quality of the pants was very nice and the fit wasn't worth purchasing.

Have you recently tried something that many people are loving and you're, well, not? Let me know! I always love suggestions. Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

Totally agree about the Minnie pants. They looked awful on me! I actually found a great pair of skinny pants at Gap that are infinitely more flattering.

I didn't like the Minnie pant either, I thought they were poor quality and just looked horrible when I tried them on! I wish I could have gotten on board with that trend, but definitely didn't feel they were worth the price!

I definitely agree with the minnie and pixie pants comments. I gave away my minnies after a few wears because they stretched out so much and were an awkward length!

I love the Smooth Infusion Aveda products...maybe they'd be better for your hair?

I like the Minnie pants but they stretch out A LOT!

I'm with you on the Minnie and the Pixie! I was so disappointed. The Cafe pant is way better (no side zip!).

Love your blog - I read it every day over my cup of coffee!

Finally, someone who isn't part of the Minnie pant cult!! I think they're ill fitting too and frankly not that flattering unless you're a toothpick.

As for hair care products I LOVE kerastase shampoo. It's pricey but totally worth it! I'm also addicted to Moroccan oil. It's simply the best and I don't know how I ever lived without it.

I completely agree with you about Coconut Water! I think it tastes so gross... Another trend right now that I just can't get into are grandma-style loafers... I'm all for prep but I think chunky loafers are just awkward.

I've tried just about every Aveda product they make, and I totally agree! Even their Damage Remedy line is awful. And the stylists try so hard to push it. I love Bumble & Bumble for salon brands, but to me Pantene does the trick!

I'll keep these in mind, haha! I prefer J. Crew's Waverly to the Minnie.

I could not agree more about the coconut water! It was the worst beverage I think I ever tasted! Ditto on the aveda products. I do love the Kerastase shampoo, but rotate it with Herbal Essence Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner. I've tried so many brands from cheapo to super expensive, and my hair looks so much better since I started using the Hello Hydration. Also, love a leave in hair protector called "It's a 10". Basically 10 things in 1 product.I like the original(new one has keritin), but both are good.Adds volume but does not dry your hair out, antifrizz, etc.(sold in beauty salons). Also love Purpose liquid face soap-clear in a pump bottle.

Thanks for the info! Do you remember what the name of the RL pants are that you like?

I love the minnie pant but I'm very short and petite so maybe they cut better for petites? I actually think I buy the petite version of them as well so that could make a difference too. I agree though that they aren't super great quality but I like wearing them when I'm going to a casual event but feel like wearing something other than skinny jeans!

i use Aveda's shampure and i have been for years. i think it's all about what kind of hair you have with aveda products.
