You may have noticed that Summer Wind had a bit of a face lift late last week. It looks fab, doesn't it?! I wanted something that reflected my love for pink and green but fun, clean, and organized to reflect my personality. Also, I just had to include pink stripes because they reminded me so much of Eloise.
This month, Summer Wind turns 4. FOUR. People, that is a seventh (ish) of my life! Summer Wind hadn't changed in the entire 4 years, so I decided that it was time for a change... an upgrade, really.
Contrary to popular belief, I am not the genius behind this pretty little re-brand of SW, but the gorgeous Whitney of Heart and Arrow Design is behind it! She is beyond fabulous! I gave her my scattered vision and she ran with it. She even put up with my crazy tedious e-mails and for that I am grateful.
I am totally not a graphic designer by any means. I have beginner knowledge in Photoshop, HTML code, and the Adobe Creative Suite (PS. have you heard about the Creative Cloud?! Genius). I would love to learn more, but my excuse is that I haven't had time... or the extra $1,000+ laying around to purchase the suite... occasionally I will watch some YouTube videos or play coding games to broaden my horizons, but I would be kidding myself if I thought I could have attempted to create my own site in a timely manner.
Because of my lack of knowledge, Whitney even sent me PDF's that she created to guide me after she had installed the new look. They were very easy tutorials on how to manipulate elements of the design, and that, I am ever thankful for!
I wholeheartedly recommend her, not only her creative genius, but her patience and kindness! She delivered a fabulous product (at a price that just cannot be beat) all while delivering the best customer service. I can tell she will go far in life with her talent and skills!
So let's get acquainted with the new design, shall we?
To the right:
The six icons under the photo direct you to some of my social media pages: Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and E-mail. Click any of those buttons and you will be redirected to that page.
Under the social media buttons, you'll find the Google Followers... which doesn't really matter anymore, oh well! You can also sign up for Summer Wind to be e-mailed to you when I update each day.
Then, you have your standard search bar. You can search for things like "bathing suits" or "monogram" and you'll see posts that relate to your search term. Seeing some of the searches that people do is highly amusing.... so please, search away.
Next, we have the Shop With Me section with scrolling items that I am living. If you click on the photo, you will be taken to the site where you are able to purchase the item. I update this pretty often, so keep checking back for different items.
Next, the fabulous Summer Wind sponsors. Click any logo and you will be redirected to the company's site.
And lastly, you'll see the Summer Wind archive with all 1,000+ posts cataloged (What can I say?! I have a lot to say).
So, what do you think?! Are you loving the new design as much as I am? I'll admit, I am not a fan of change, so it took me a bit to get used to but now I just can't stop looking at it! Have a fabulous day!
Yours,

Love the new layout. Speaking of Eloise - my great aunt had passed away and I was going through her books and found a first edition book called Eloise in Moscow! Of course I grabbed it. Have you ever had a chance to look at her early Eloise books?
Your blog looks great! Although I am old enough to be your mother, I have been following your blog for a couple of years. You give me great ideas for gifts for my 2 twenty something girls.
The visual beauty of your blog matches the fabulousness of its contents! Could you please share the name of the font you used in your Summer Wind logo? I absolutely love the look of it (and your blog!). Thanks!
