I have been scouring what seems like the entire world for a pair of eyeglasses and I am thinking this is the designer I should go with. I did the Warby Parker at home try on twice but just didn't truly love any of the pairs...they were nice glasses but I felt as though they all gave me a hipster look... and let's just say that is so not me. I am looking for a classic, thin framed, light colored tortoise shell model.
I am leaning towards a pair by Ralph Lauren or Oliver Peoples but the pair in the above photo is the kind of look I am going for. It's amazing how much I need eyeglasses after sitting in front of the computer screen all day long... I honestly think my sight is deteriorating (ohhh the pains of growing older, ha!).
My top pick, the Belle De Jour, remind me of the eyeglasses that Gregory Peck (Atticus Finch) wore in the film, To Kill a Mockingbird.
Oh, you should know, I am not usually this indecisive. I can easily pick out sunglasses. In the above photo I am trying on my friend, Lauren's Gucci sunnies and I am in love. I have been trying to track them down-- they had a brief stint on RueLaLa but couldn't get my hands on them fast enough!! So, as it goes, I am still looking for eyeglasses(I mean, it's going on a year of looking.) and Massadas have made it into the running. Any suggestions of high quality eyeglass brands that you recommend, please share in the comments. Have a fabulous day!

I've worn glasses since second grade so I am very familiar with them haha! I have a prada pair that I love and are my go-to glasses when I don't wear contacts!
I think those would look great on you! You can never go wrong with torties.
I like the model in the first picture too. The hair and big collars give it a nice seventies vibe. :)
I just got a pair of Gucci tortoise shell ones that sounds similar to what you are looking for!
I just adore those eyeglasses, they are so classic. My favorite professor has some from Ben Silver that I've always admired. Good luck with the search!
Best,

I'm looking for eyewear in Edmonton. Is this an online shop? Do they have a location near me? I always worry about buying things without trying them on.
