La vie est faite de petits bonheurs

I would say I live a 'semi charmed' life. Of course it has its ups and downs and I have had my share of struggles, but I am happy. I know that being a 20-something, for most, there is a lot of uncertainty, plenty of ups-and-downs, hard decisions, big decisions.... all of this can make for a tough time period. Sometimes I find myself #dealingwithit when life gets me down, but I strive to live life to the fullest and be happy 99.9% of the time no matter what life deals me. Even when you are going through a rough time or simply have a 'bad' day, there has to be something good within that day. Life is made up of small moments of happiness even in the midst of unrest. The silver lining, if you will. I found myself jotting down my silver linings in the notes of my phone.... collecting all of the little, almost insignificant moments throughout my days that make me happy. Some are specific to my life but I thought I'd share them with you in hopes that you will share yours with me.
Putting on a crisp, freshly pressed shirt.

Getting into bed with warm sheets right out of the dryer on a cold winter's night.

Getting into bed on an extremely hot night with cool sheets.

Hearing children playing outside.

Being grateful for what you have.

Lots of hot coffee on lazy weekend mornings when you have no schedule.

A cold drink against sunburned skin.

Giving and receiving thank you notes.

A shower after a day spent at the beach.

Hearing your dad coming home from work, walking through the door and your dog's footsteps running to greet him.

Twinkle lights.

A good hair day.

Waking up early on a weekday and realizing you still have more time to sleep.

Hot tea, your favorite candle and a book you can't put down.

The second a person's face pops on FaceTime.

Late-summer sunsets with cicadas humming in the background.

Seeing the '...' when texting someone you like.

Finding a really good live version of a song and blasting it, singing along while driving on a highway.

The golden hour that makes anything and everything absolutely stunning.

When you check your bank account and are pleasantly surprised.

Christmas mass.

The excitement in a sports announcer's voice just before your favorite team is about to score.

Sweater weather. Wrapping up on a cool summer's night.
Being safe in bed as a storm rages on outside your window.

Being truly surprised by a kind gesture.

The first sip of champagne.

Laughing so hysterically that your abs hurt.

Seeing someone you love so truly happy that it makes you happy, too.

Removing your ski boots after a long day on the slopes.

Friday night lights.

Fresh tan lines from a day spent outside.

The satisfaction after cleaning and organizing.

Turning your alarm off on weekends and days off.

The pure silence and calm after a big, nighttime snow storm.

Cold water when you are super thirsty.

Unconditional love from your pet.

Fireworks.
For me, Summer Wind is about sharing the happiness in life, not the negativity, so the next time you find yourself down, look for the little things to cheer yourself up-- in my book, this is the secret to true happiness. Have a fabulous day!
Yours,

This is a fantastic post! It's amazing how peaceful and happy I feel after attending mass. Even when I had to force myself to go.
