I wanted to highlight a super easy way to transition your white bottoms into fall. I used to be a huge rule follower but now I feel like the rule is too limiting! I still put away a lot of my Lilly Pulitzer prints, eyelet, seersucker and madras, but I feel like white denim is totally appropriate. I think it is the best in the deep winter with grey cashmere, but for fall, I have paired it with suede booties and a Barbour jacket-- two fall staples which really make the white denim seem less summer-y.
I ask this every year on Summer Wind-- do you wear white post-Labor Day? I think it seems as if people are doing it more and more each year! Have a fabulous day!
Adore white pants after Labor Day, especially in looks like this. The crisp pants really just add something to chunky, muted color sweaters that jeans can't! My favorite look is paired with a thick neutral sweater and bold colored flats.
I'm totally with you on having followed the rule in the past - the weather has been so unseasonably warm this year though that it doesn't feel right to put them away yet!
Although I will eventually put my whites away for the season by the end of the month most likely, I have a pair of off white skinny cords that I bought last winter which I wear non-stop. Agree with the comment from Gabriela - a light color pant does something special for sweaters. As a bonus, white cords are a little warmer than denim come fall/winter!
I have always been so against wearing white after Labor Day but have seen so many bloggers pull it off flawlessly the last few years. I think I might try it this fall!

I love that you're wearing you white pants still! I also don't believe in that rule!

Absolutely wear white after Labor Day! I love my winter whites :)
Definitely not. Maybe in the south you could push white denim for an extra week or two but in the north it is a serious fashion do NOT.
I love this outfit! I can't wait to transition my white jeans now!

I wear my whites after Labor Day. White denim paired with grey in the winter is a yes for me :)
