This past weekend was absolutely freezing. It was a quick reminder of how much I don't love winter. However, it also reminded me that I get stuck in a jeans or black pants/leggings rut as the temps dip. Proof in point, on Saturday night, I ended up wearing a black sweater, black pants and a black bag. Usually between January and February, I don't wear a skirt or dress almost ever. It's just too darn cold!!
Last year I found myself only wearing jeans or black pants/pixie pants. As comfortable and (sometimes) cute that can be, it gets boring real quick. I saw these wool pants that have an updated fit and loved them. The fit is more 'young' so I don't feel like a token 'office lady' in them. The way the fabric lays is more elegant and less stiff, which is really something I look for in a wool pant. Sometimes wool pants can either a. look too business-y or b. look really frumpy. So when Talbots sent me these pants, I was ecstatic with the quality and fit!
They're a great alternative to jeans and black pants. I also really like to wear them on the weekend sans pearls and swap out the pumps for flats or booties! As for fit, most of Talbots runs slightly big on me, however I would say these run true to size, maybe even a little small. I am wearing a size 4 in these, when I usually take a 2, so if you are between sizes, I would definitely suggest sizing up-- especially because they are meant to drape rather than fit tight!

I love this look. I've recently started a new job that requires me to dress nicer than I've been used to and I've really appreciated your wear to work posts as a refreshing take on looking classic without looking matronly. Thank you!
Love this look! Personally, I'm lucky enough that I can wear ripped boyfriend jeans to the office every day, but I do love that you're updating the classic "wear to work" look and making it appropriate for ladies our age!
Pink Champagne Problems
This is such a cute, work appropriate outfit!
