Lately

Because of the holiday weekend, I was all over the place this week trying to remember what day it was, ha! It's crazy how much shorter a 4-day week feels compared to 5-days!! I vote to always have 4-day weeks! One can dream...

Labor Day weekend was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was nice to spend time with family and friends, get a lot of sleep and I tackled a ton of cleaning. It amazes me every time I do a deep clean of this house how much longer it takes than my apartment. I have been considering hiring a maid and with every big clean, I'm closer to making the call!!

I was able to tackle a ton of house projects this week. I finally ordered items I had been holding off on (curtains, rods, fabric for upholstery, etc.!!), I've had contractors in and out to get estimates for some small projects, and we got a huge TV for the basement so my fiancé can enjoy football Sundays down there and we can watch movies! We have a nice finished basement space, but we had never used it. Now with the TV, it will be so nice to be able to spend time down there!

I also started to look forward to and plan travel for some upcoming weddings we are attending. We have SO many in the next 4 months it's kind of crazy. Weddings are always fun, though, so we have lots to look forward to!

Wearing: This is the most random thing for me to recommend but I got these sweatpants at Costco for $10. My parents have purchased clothing from Costco before and I have always poked fun at them for doing so. However, when I felt these sweatpants, I couldn't resist!!! They are SO soft and cozy. Remember the Vineyard Vines sweatpants I fell in love with last fall? Well, these Costco pants are literally the closest thing I have found to the VV sweats and at $10, you can't beat it. I wouldn't sleep in them because they are synthetic, but for lounging around the house, they're amazing. They're even cute enough in style that I feel totally fine walking Henry around the block in them in the early morning/late night.

Reading: Thank you all for your recommendations on last week's post! I just got The Alice Network and I'm so excited to dive in!

Sale-ing: Did you catch my post where I shared all of the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale details?! I got a sneak peek and this might be one of the best sales yet!

Watching:
I am soooo late to the game with this one, but I recently started watching Breaking Bad and I am OBSESSED. My fiancĂ© has been trying to get me to watch it for the longest time and I had always dismissed it by saying 'that just doesn't seem like something I'd like'. Well, after two episodes, I was hooked. I was right in that it isn't the type of show I typically go far. It's a bit dark and gritty but the storyline is so good and the acting is phenomenal. You can stream all 6 seasons on Netflix.

Listening: I've been listening to the new Taylor Swift album non-stop and my top favorites are London Boy, Cornelia Street, and False God. What are your favorites?

Loving: I love this fall foliage map that comes out every year! Usually, it is spot on, too!

Loving: Have you guys seen Nordstrom's website now has a counter on each product page that shows you how many people are viewing the item? It's kind of creepy but also pretty cool, too! From a blogger standpoint, it's kind of helpful, actually! From a marketing standpoint, it's pretty smart, too.

Wanting: This faux fur vest is truly stunning. I love the shape. I wear a lot of vests in fall/winter and the fact that this one comes in every neutral color is amazing. I'm going to order it to try it out but I can't decide what color. I'm leaning towards cream but we'll see! I also love this cute little tweed dress. It is affordable and has Chanel vibes!

Smelling: I love this cedar pumpkin scent. It's inexpensive but doesn't smell it! I don't love most pumpkin candles because I find that they skew too sweet/sugary. However, this is manly and not overwhelming. I wish they sold this candle in pillars so that they would look pretty displayed!

Quoting: 'You often feel tired not because you've done too much, but because you've done too little of what sparks a light in you.' -Alexander Den Heijer // See more of my favorites, here.

Definitely hire a house cleaner. Engage an individual with referrals from friends or family. I have found that better that the maid services which are uneven and you don’t have the same team every time. I have had my current gem of a housekeeper for 10 years and a mother daughter team before that for 15years. Every two weeks works well even with 2corgis (shedding machines)! I dust mop when needed during shedding season between visits. You can always reschedule if special events are requiring a cleaning. Good luck!
