Lately

Caftan (runs big size down)// Sandals// Basket Bag// Sunglasses

Another week almost in the books. Even though life is far from normal, I do feel like time is moving faster this month than in the past several months. This week was nice as the weather started out cooler than the sweltering 90++ degree heat we had had for the past few weeks. We enjoyed spending time eating dinners out on our little back patio!

This weekend we actually have plans of sorts! We are having friends over for dinner on Friday night which I am so excited about. Then on Friday, we are going to celebrate my dad with an outdoor dinner as it is his birthday!

The snaps above are from this past weekend. We spent a bit of time sitting by the pool and time hanging out with sweet Henry. He truly is the best and I'm always thankful for him and love him so much, but I am especially grateful for him throughout these last few months.

Medium Maple Board SYDNEY20 for 20% off!
Wren is a new-to-me home brand and they sent me this beautiful wood platter and I love it so much. It is so beautifully made and has nautical vibes which is just so fun for summertime! I'm going to make a cheese board tomorrow night on it for the first time and I can't wait. This would make such a nice housewarming or wedding/shower gift. You can personalize it with different engravings! You can use code SYDNEY20 for 20% off!

Wearing: Kendra Scott is opening this Friday in Pittsburgh! It is on Walnut Street in Shadyside. To celebrate the opening, the team was so sweet and sent me this seriously gorgeous necklace. I was so surprised and LOVE it. I plan to wear it daily along with my solitaire necklace! I am blown away by the beauty and quality. It's truly a special piece. I can't wait to stop in the store

Eating: I am so late to the game with this one but I just tried cotton candy grapes for the first time and I am honestly amazed. I had always heard people say that they really do taste like cotton candy and it always confused me because how can a grape taste like cotton candy?! If you haven't tried them, you'll be amazed! After I tried one I googled if these were natural or if there were some sort of added flavor and it turns out it's just a hybrid between two different grapes- no artificial flavors. I can't eat too many because they are VERY sweet but the novelty of them is so fun. I just heard that Trader Joe's has gummy bear grapes and now I'm on the hunt for them to try!

Reading: I just preordered Mark D. Sikes latest coffee table book. It comes out in September and I am so excited.

Sale-ing: Bloomingdales is having a big sale where you can take an extra 50% off most clearance items. This sweatshirt has a really cool fit and is neutral so it will go with everything. I absolutely love this blue flowy dress. Oh my goodness this white dress is incredible. You can see my full post about it, here.

Watching:
You all know I've been on a Before the 90 Days on TLC. Well, I got through all of the episodes so I started watching 'The Other Way' and am all caught up on that now. It's just as good- a mindless watch for me!

Listening: I've been listening to a lot of David Benoit radio on Pandora (jazz) but also a bit of my summer 2020 playlist

Loving: I've shared my Paint By Numbers project on instastories so I'm linking for you all! I have been enjoying doing about an hour of painting a few nights per week in the evenings. I put on jazz music, and just sit there and paint. It's calming and a great analog activity.

Loving II: This sweatshirt looks identical to the Athleta sweatshirt I got this past fall (see the first photo) and it's only $30. I just ordered one for the heck of it because I can never say no to a crewneck sweatshirt. If anything, all of this time at home has turned me into a sweatshirt collector.

Wanting: Oh my goodness these sandals!!! Cutest sandals I have seen in a while! I also haven't seen madras in ages and I LOVE it. These shorts are just gorgeous. I'd order them immediately but they are a few inches longer than I'd personally like.

Quoting: 'The grass is greener where you water it.' // See more of my favorites, here.

I look forward to these posts on Thursdays! Love them! I always leave with something new, a quote, food to try, show to watch, and today a new jazz station to play while I'm working. Hooray for fun weekend plans! Hope you have a fabulous time!

Thanks for showing that tray; it gave me an idea for our bathroom remodel. We want it to have a coastal feel so we're using bluish gray and white tile. I ordered 6 of those cleats for a cabinet (I'll use other hardware on the vanities and other cabinetry). I think it will feel coastal without screaming theme.

Cute cheese tray! I love your blog for the style content and the upbeat tone (your inspirational quotes are always so encouraging). I know you want to use your platform for positive impact, so I’m surprised to see you normalizing going to stores (“Kendra Scott is opening!”), dining at restaurants, and having friends over. So many people are considering influencers’ examples in their decisions about social distancing. What you say has an impact on the safety of our community. The World Health Organization has an Insta you might consider following. Two days ago they said, “Every single leader, government, and person can do their bit to break the chains of transmission and end the collective suffering.” Social distancing is no fun, but it’s so important!! I hope to see you reminding your followers of that. Thanks for giving this some thought.
