Today I wanted to share with you all that Serena and Lily is having their Fall Design Event where you can get 20% off of everything using code NEWSEASON. This is the best time to snag something you have had your eye on because Serena and Lily does not have frequent sales!
There is a wall that is between our kitchen and dining room that used to have our bar cabinet on it. I found a chest at an estate sale in early 2021 and it sat in that space without any decor to tie it all together. I just couldn't find what I wanted to do with the wall!!!
Because the chest was a more traditional piece and dark wood, I wanted to style the space with slightly more contemporary items and lighter colored things to brighten the area up!
I knew I wanted a lamp for the top of the chest. I had a bit of trial and error for a few months. I kept striking out but really hit the jackpot when I landed on this Hattie Table Lamp. This area is kind of like a dead zone with lighting so it made such a big impact putting a lamp there not only for aesthetic reasons but for practicality reasons, too!
The Hattie Table Lamp is beautiful online but even better in person! It's easily the nicest quality lamp in our home. The switch is actually a dimmer so you can change the light output which is so nice. So in the evenings, we usually make it brighter but then as we are winding down before bed, we dim it a bit for the coziest and most serene vibe! I think this feature would be incredible in a bedroom, too! Serena and Lily has a ton of table lamp options so if you're looking for something more neutral or different in scale, definitely browse their selection! I love this brass lamp!

The Ross Arm Chairs will actually end up being our dining chairs once we get a new dining room table! For now they have a home on this wall flanking the chest! Because we will obviously be sitting on them while eating and drinking, I made sure to pick a durable fabric: Perennials® Basketweave Chalk. It is a great neutral without looking stark and has a beautiful texture to it. I wanted something classic and neutral as these will likely be chairs we keep for many many years to come. I like the sleek legs because if we end up with a very traditional dining table, I wanted these chairs to modernize the space a bit! The fabric is woven from 100% solution-dyed acrylic so it will resist all manner of wear and tear - staining, mold, and UV radiation. I had ordered a bunch of fabric samples before I landed on this one. Serena and Lily makes it so easy to order samples! Not only are they gorgeous and beautifully made, but they are SO comfortable. The chairs are 28" deep in total and18" deep inside of the seat, which is on the deeper end as far as dining chairs go! It's so comfortable, I'm thinking about getting one as my desk chair!
I also wanted to share some other Serena and Lily items that we have in our home and love that are also included in the 20% off fall design event!
Thank you to Serena and Lily for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own!
