This post is coming live to you from my new computer! The difference between the Macbook 2013 and a 2021 Macbook is wild. It's kind of like getting a brand new car after having an older car for a long time. They're obviously very similar-looking and function the same, but it's huge just how much nicer the resolution, the sound, literally everything is in the 2021 version. This computer has surround sound almost better than any speaker in our entire home. I'm blown away. I think I'm getting sentimental in my older age with certain things as I felt a slight twinge as I retired my old Macbook!! I know that sounds crazy but I just thought about how it has been with me through 8 years. That's a long time! It has taken quite a beating I'm honestly surprised it has lasted as long as it has! The trips it went on with me, the projects I've worked on with it, and so much more. Honestly, I am laughing at myself as I type this, but I rely SO heavily on my computer for my job and I'm just so appreciative of all it did for me! Here's to hopefully another 8 years with my new friend! Also, it took me seriously not even 20 minutes to completely set up my new computer to basically look and function exactly like my old one. Do you all remember getting a new computer and being so frustrated by how hard and time-consuming it was to transfer everything over? While technology frustrates me a lot, I'm definitely thankful for this convenience.
Anyway, hope you all made it through my very odd computer reflection! This week was great. We are doing a fun shoot today, actually, that I hope to be able to share with you all next week!
Last night we went out to dinner with friends and then went to the Heinz Hall speaker series as our friends had extra tickets! The speaker was Platon who is a well-known photographer who photographs celebrities and public figures. I hadn't heard of him before but he was so well spoken and gave a really cool presentation!! The photo at the top of this post is from that!
We put up our tree this week and I think we will decorate it this weekend! This is actually pretty late for me, but It's so nice just having it up with the lights. There is nothing like the glow from a tree that's for sure!
Oh, and, we went on a really fun road trip to the Finger Lakes this past weekend. I owe you all two travel guides and promise they are coming! I feel like I have SO much content to share with you all right now, not enough days in the week!!!
Watching: We are currently watching Dopesick on Hulu and it's dark but really good!
Gifting: I love wrapping gifts. LOVE IT. These initial ornaments are only $5 and a gorgeous gift 'topper'. I love to add ornaments on gifts for a beautiful and personalized touch! For example, my nephew started playing football this year so I got a football ornament to attach to one of his gifts!
Listening: Maybe I am the last person to discover him, but Chris Botti is a trumpeter and I stumbled upon his rendition of First Noel and WOW. He's so talented and it's the most relaxing song!! My husband thinks it is way too soon for Christmas music but I am fully here for it, haha! I have been listening to his Christmas stuff in the evenings while unwinding and it has been pure bliss.
Loving: I dropped my steamer on the bathroom floor and it unfortunately broke. So I went to buy another one and noticed they came out with a new model of the one I have always had. It is SO nice. I didn't think it could get any better but wow, this steams and is basically an iron at the same time. I LOVE it. I also think it's made of higher quality materials- it just feels less likely to break if I drop it on the bathroom floor, ha!
Loving II: Our friends sent us this gorgeous ornament last week. Seriously, it is one of the prettiest ornaments I have ever seen and I am SO excited to hang it on our tree!!!!! It would make a really nice holiday gift for a newlywed couple. I LOVE ornaments as gifts. I think they're so special and always write who it is from and the date on it so each year when decorating the tree we can reminisce on all of the wonderful times we have had!
Wanting: THIS DRESS!!! Finally, a somewhat classic, under $500 cocktail dress. Love it!!!!!!!! Not sure how the color would be on me as it might wash me out, but wow I love it.
Smelling: My mom told me about these sticks that you put on your tree and it ends up smelling like a true fresh pine tree! We both have artificial trees so we never get that fresh pine scent!
Traveling: Our next trip on the books is to Savannah and Sea Island. I am so excited!
Quoting: See more of my favorites, here.
