Great Things About Winter

Sweater (wearing a size small, fits TTS, also comes in gray)

Tuesday's post got buried by the Tuckernuck Sale, so I'm bringing this post to the top! Enjoy!

First, let's chat about the outfit, and then we will move on to the real point of today's post! I love this Sweater as it feels very 'dead of winter' in the chicest way. Its slight swing fit makes it so comfortable, and the knit pattern is unique. I especially love the tight ribbed crewneck! These Jeans are my go-to boot jeans. They are so stretchy, high waisted that they really suck you in and keep their shape after many hours of wear. They run a little big as I wear a size 2, so I recommend sizing down! And lastly, Aquatalia sent me these Boots, which are just stunning. They really elevate an outfit, and they are on sale right now!

Now to today's topic: winter. I did a poll last week on Instagram. I knew the answer before polling you all, and I was right. I asked you all if you like winter, and most of the responses did not favor winter. I get it, and on one hand, I agree. But I also love layering clothing, sweaters, heated seats, a cozy snow day, and the list goes on. I definitely think winter can drag on. I mean, it doesn't get warm here in Pittsburgh until mid-May if we are lucky. But I think the never-ending gray days here in Pittsburgh make it tough! Pittsburgh is the 4th US city with the most gray days per year.  UGH!

Ok, but let's focus on the positives! I asked you all what you love about winter, and some of your responses were really great. Sometimes, you just need to remind yourself there is so much good, even in seasons you don't love!

- Soup (so many of you said this one- the very best!!!!)

- Hot chocolate

- Skiing

- Collecting beautiful coats

- Baking

- Cashmere

- Blankets

- Crockpot meals

- More down time

- Not sweating (LOVE this one)

- Being lazy without the guilt, many of you said something along these lines!

- Taking off all of your layers once inside

- Everything is so calm/quiet when it snows

- It's like an adventure walking your dog when you go outside and it is snowing

- Ice Skating

- Cozy Socks and Pajamas

- Hot Tea

- Cashmere

- Better sleep since it gets dark earlier

- No bugs (this is a great one I would not have thought about!)

- Sipping hot coffee in the mornings snuggled under a blanket (my favorite part of every single day!)

- Crisp air, no humidity to ruin my hair

- The way snow brightens everything

- Work/life balance seems better (came from someone who said this about her particular industry, I'm sure accountants would not say the same, ha! But my job is also slower right now, and I do love that)

- Cozy hobbies many of you mentioned: cross stitch, crochet, needlepoint, puzzles,

Ok and here are some that you all did not mention but would make my list...

- The crunch of fresh fallen snow underfoot

- Red Wine (I added this one because I love red wine but don't like to drink it in the summer)

- The warm glow from homes with their lights on

- The feeling of removing your ski boots after a long day.

- When you're cold, and you take a really hot shower

- Seeing snowmen pop up after a big snow

- Hot tubs (especially when it snows!)

- You don't have to shave your legs every single day

- Snowflakes dancing around under a lampost

- The sound of a crackling wood fire

- Heated car seats

- Henry loves to jump around in the snow; it's adorable
