Dermstore Sale: Skincare and Beauty Picks + Discount Code

Dermstore Sale: Skincare and Beauty Picks + Discount Code

Dermstore is having a sale right now where you can get up to 20% off select brands and products. You can use my discount code SUMMERWIND- it will give you the best discount and give you a discount on some brands/products that even the code on the site won't give you (ahem, this brand that makes my fave hand lotion, and this brand that makes my fave vitamin c serum).

I have worked with Dermstore in a paid capacity on Instagram twice now (so excited about this as I have been shopping the site for years), and I hope to continue working with them, but this blog post is not a sponsored post!

I will share some of my favorite picks with you all! Dermstore gave me this code last year and has never had it expire, which is amazing because I use it myself, ha! I love it when brands give me a code because it gives me something of value to provide you all with! But anyway, you can use it even during non-sale periods and still get $$ off at checkout. The code changes on what it works for from time to time- I don't know the specifics or timeline of the changes, but it doesn't work the same 24/7, just a heads up! But this particular sale goes through March 10th!

These products I am recommending are only things I have used myself and would *highly* recommend. I love skincare and love to try products, but at the end of the day, the biggest thing about skincare is being regimented in your routine regardless of the actual product. I was talking to my girlfriend about this the other night, and she asked me if I ever skip skincare or makeup removal, and I said literally never skip- no matter what! Consistency is the most important thing you can do to ensure your products work to the best of their ability.

It's important to know your skin, too. The same skincare does not work for everybody, and my skincare goals are also likely a bit different than yours! My skin is acne-prone, and I am most focused on hydrating and keeping fine lines as *fine* as possible. My under eyes are my biggest insecurity as I have dark circles, and I feel like that is where I am aging most noticeably! Also, to preface, aging is NORMAL and not a negative. How lucky are we that we get to grow older with every passing day? But I think it's important to do whatever one wants to feel good and confident. I was extremely anxious and stressed in 2020, and I feel like those 18 months leading up to our July 2021 wedding aged me about 10 years. I know many of you likely feel similarly for various reasons. It makes me personally feel good to invest in my skin. Just like investing in my Orange Theory workouts makes me feel physically and mentally good. That's also to say you do not need to spend buckets of money on skincare. One of my favorite moisturizers is this drugstore brand. I am always sure to have it on hand.

Rich Cream// This is pricey and even on sale, it's still pricey. Though it is something I have repeatedly purchased ever since trying it. I held off on trying it for so long because I didn't want it to be that good, but it is. You can find it on sale several times yearly, so I never pay full price. The story behind this brand is long-winded, so look it up if you are curious because it really is fascinating. I have seen such great results with this cream. It is SO hydrating, and the texture is unlike any other moisturizer I have used. If you want to use one step in your skincare regimen, it could be this because of all its beneficial ingredients. I love to wear it under my makeup, though some think this is too heavy for that- they make a lighter cream that I have not tried. I also notice that it truly plumps my skin. My fines truly lessen after application, and I also notice my pores look smaller. I noticed this after the first use, but it just gets better and better the more you use it. My mom does not like to spend much on skincare, but even she loves this product. Out of all of the products mentioned in this blog post, this is my #1 recommendation.

Cleanser// I love this cleanser. I used to be a Tula cleanser gal. It's my opinion that cleanser is where you can save your money. As long as I find something that cleanses well and is not drying, that's all I care about, and I can focus more on actives in my serums, toners, and moisturizers. This is a really great standard cleanser. My husband and I both love it. It's gentle but cleanses well and does not dry out my skin.

Peel Pads// I have two peel pads on this list and while they do the same things, they are different and I like to have both on hand. These peel pads are STRONG. If you are new to something like this, I would recommend starting with something gentler (like the ones you'll see me talk about below). They burn sometimes... in a good way! I typically use these leading up to an event where I want my skin to look extra good. They are expensive and harsh, so It's not an everyday thing. In a maintenance period, I use them about once per week. They keep my acne away, make my skin clear and bright, and make my pores look smaller. I also like these peel pads- they are only one step, which I prefer, but I think they both do the same thing, so I just purchase whatever is on sale when I need to restock. If you want big results quickly, this is it.

Lipstick Gloss// My sister turned me on to this. For the longest time, I just always assumed this lip product was for teens. I think maybe it's the packaging. This has the color payoff of a lipstick, the nourishing feeling of a balm, and the shine of a gloss. It's truly like a 3-in-1 product, and I can't get enough. It has a coconut scent, which I don't love. I was drinking a glass of champagne once and kept smelling coconut as I was drinking from the glass and throwing my taster off. So that is kind of annoying but, this is so good that I'm willing to look past that.

Setting Powder// This is a newer product for me as I got it only a few weeks ago, but I am enjoying it so far. I don't have a favorite setting powder. I've tried a lot and I have liked most. I liked that this is hydrating. As I get older, I need more hydration and if I use setting powder under my eyes, the more moisture the better. I think this works really well and doesn't leave a white cast. I just bought the small size but will get the larger size when I run out.

Peel Pads// These peel pads come in a tub instead of individual packets. They are much gentler than the Dennis Gross peel pads. I use them nightly. Anything stronger would dry me out too much, so I like that this is gentle enough for daily use. They have a light but pleasant scent and contain lactic acid, so you get a light chemical exfoliation. I've tried other brands that make gentle peel pads for daily use but always come back to these.

Lash Serum// I used Grande Lash years ago and turned the skin above my lashes brownish red. It's a common side effect of the active ingredient, prostaglandin, which is in most brown and lash serums. I had to stop using it, and eventually, my skin returned to its normal color. This lash serum contains prostaglandin but for some reason, I have no side effects with this. Do your own research on this ingredient. I don't necessarily think it is good, so I try to use this only when I feel my lashes need a boost. It really does work, and it works SO quickly. I notice full, long lashes within a week and after two weeks. I have to slow down on usage because my lashes get almost too long.

Midnight Facial Cream// I love this! Elemis' Superfood line is great and I don't see many talk about it and I often wonder why. This is a nice thick night cream, but the texture is gel-like, unlike most other heavy night creams. I have tried a lot of night creams, and this is solid, especially for the price. I find myself coming back to it consistently.

Blush// This is another newer product for me. I was curious about it because the description and even the look/packaging reminded me a lot of my beloved Hauslabs blushes/highlighters. I got the shade pomegranate, and I love it. The texture and color payoff is very similar to Hauslabs as I suspected. It's the prettiest rosy pink-red shade and it's just like Hauslabs in that it applies like a creamy gel but turns to a powder finish. It's so easy to blend and sheerer so you can be heavy handed.

Curling Iron// I've used a 1.25" t3 for years. It's a great curling iron, and I specifically love this size!

Eye Patches// I use these weekly when I need my under eyes to be plump and depuffed. I have terrible undereye circles and it's a constant source of annoyance for me. It's where I notice I am aging the most. Whenever I use these, my concealer sits better. It's also a savior after a night of sushi or a dirty martini when my face tends to be extra puffy. I love to pack these when traveling. I keep them in the refrigerator at home for an extra cooling effect that feels amazing on tired eyes. I also love to give these as gifts!
